Only code change is related to air density calculation, but it's more good than bad. To compensate it's side effect - wrong ceiling, INI variable "dyad" was added.
Sometimes, helicopter explode right in the air - I have found possible issue in side resistance code, so I guess it's a coincidence that it happen with his changes only. But I may be wrong.

Hovering changes does not affect normal flight modes. Only issue, happen when helicopter explode right after hovering is disabled, is fixed.

Overall - you will be able to make FM same as in 1.16.0 but with working hovering modes.

Maybe start a new thread for FM discussions? I'll move your posts to it. I did also notice how slowly the ka50 turns with the rudder. Something isn't right with that. But not sure what the cause was.

I'm going to take a pause from working on this cockpit. I think the majority of things that needed done to make it playable have now been done, and the remaining things are cosmetic "nice to have" things.

I want to use the momentum I've got for modding, and a few things I've learned, to go back to working on my Blackhawk cockpit and try and get some progress with it.

Which Ka-50 cockpit state you think should be included into stable release - last one from master branch, or you will push your custom changes soon?

I created a pull request to merge my changes into master, so you can check and go with that. That's everything including the fuel gauge.

is landing gear lamp works? it in the list, but can't see it in cockpit

oh crap, expected square lamp indicator but I guess you meant three gears dots, they are working

Yeah, that was for some future update. There is a lamp as a warning if the gear isn't down under certain flight condition.
