Knew was coming, as of yesterday, they started the Que lines into 1 door alone. Only one exit to. They had to do this, the number of people in the store in an emergency with only one entrance and exit is disaster waiting to happen. My poor wife who is been one the front lines of this since day one,can tell you stories that will terrify you. The amount of stupid coming into the stores was unbelievable.
She always texted me on her lunch. Today she did not, now I am really worried. She said yesterday they have 5 /6 foot tables in the break room and only 2 chairs per table. Was unsure how she would be able get a seat with so my others at the same time. They told those who drive to go out and eat in your car. I drop her off and pick her up. Tomorrow will be an eye opener.
Oh yes, getting the idiots to use the Que lines yesterday was a Circus. They had to have police help for those who thought they could enter the exit door. Be even tougher now.

Went by today and it was already being controlled, taped off with yellow tape, people in line to go in each 6' apart. Some come out, some could go in. Like a velvet roped off bar with a bouncer at the door. I drove on by, not messing with that. LOL

5 customers per 1000 square feet and it will reduce the number of total customers in the store at any time to about 20% capacity. The Walmart where she works is huge. With ratio calculation they figure one around 94 customers at a time. Not sure how they make this work. Going to be fun for Police and employees tomorrow morning. And when I pick her up, I go in so she knows to follow to where I park, she has a handicap tag but they are always filled by that time.

Email I got from Home Depot:
Dear Valued Customer:
As our communities battle COVID-19, The Home Depot is committed to providing the essential needs required to maintain your homes and businesses while doing our best to protect you, our valued customers, and our associates. This has resulted in several temporary changes to our business as we look out for your safety and the safety of our associates. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through this challenge together.
Operational Changes & Safety Measures As we continue to monitor the evolving circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we have been adjusting our operations to support national, state, and local public health guidance. To date, we have taken several measures for your safety and the safety of our associates, including: • Closing stores early at 6:00 p.m. to allow more time for sanitization and restocking • Limiting the number of customers allowed into stores at one time in the U.S. and Canada • Promoting social and physical distancing practices in stores by marking floors and adding signage to help customers and associates maintain safe distances • Eliminating major spring promotions to avoid driving high levels of traffic to stores • Limiting services and installations to those that are essential for maintenance and repair needs in impacted markets • Distributing thermometers to associates in stores and distribution centers and asking them to perform health checks before reporting to work • Asked all support center associates who can work from home to do so while continuing to support our front-line associates Supporting Our Associates Our associates are important to your shopping experience. We have implemented the following actions to support them during this crisis: • Added 80 hours of paid time off for all full-time hourly associates and 40 hours of paid time off for part-time hourly associates to be used at their discretion at any time in 2020 and paid out at year-end if not used • For associates who are 65 years of age or older, or determined to be at higher risk by the CDC, added 160 hours of paid time off for full-time hourly associates and 80 hours of paid time off for part-time hourly associates to be used at their discretion at any time in 2020 and paid out at year-end if not used • Providing paid time off for any associate who has contracted COVID-19 until released by a doctor • Providing up to 14 days paid time off for any associate required to be quarantined by a public health authority or the CDC • Providing additional bonuses to hourly associates in stores and distribution centers -- $100 per week for full-time hourly associates and $50 per week for part-time hourly associates • Providing double pay for overtime hours worked by hourly associates • Extended dependent care benefits and waived co-pays Supporting Communities We have taken a number of steps to support you and the healthcare workers and first responders providing patient care in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, including: • Weeks ago, voluntarily froze pricing nationwide across product categories in high demand due to COVID-19 • Redirected all shipments of N95 masks to be donated to hospitals, healthcare providers and first responders around the country as hospitals made the public aware of shortages • Donating millions of dollars in personal protective equipment (PPE) and other products to hospitals, healthcare providers and first responders • Prioritizing order fulfillment for hospitals, healthcare providers and first responders • Marshalling the resources of our merchandising and supply chain teams to globally source quality products and expedite the availability of needed items Expanding Online and Delivery Options To better serve you, we have expanded our car and delivery services to make it easier for you to have product delivered from our stores to your homes and businesses. In addition, we are always available for you online at homedepot.com, where you will find a wide array of product and delivery options to meet your needs.
Again, we thank you, our valued customers, for your patience and cooperation as we work through the challenges presented by COVID-19.

What happens if there is a fire? This is for teaching those that defy the new decry`s will face punishment, and why do you need contaminate everyone. Sad fact 50% of those carrying the Covid 19 have no idea because they are all asymptomatic, no symptoms and no idea they are spreading it. Could be any one of us.

Went to Costo this past Wednesday and they were doing this also
Cones placed every 6ft for the waiting line outside
Had someone spaying & wiping down carts
Only allowing so many people in at a time
Easy to avoid other shoppers in store, get your shopping done and get out.

This is what happens when bored families use Walmart as an amusement park and just wander around the store touching everything and spreading whatever germs were on their hands. Over a week ago I said the stores should stop allowing families or groups in, or do only curbside pickup, when a friend told me her daughter's (who works at one) horror stories. I’m even more aware of how fortunate I am that the closest Walmart is about 65 miles away (50-55 miles to a supermarket of any type) and that I haven’t been in the 1.5 years I’ve lived up here. Our small grocery store here in town is probably 98% stocked - paper products and cleaners/wipes containing bleach (but not gallon jugs of bleach) are low, every other class of item is fully stocked.

As a european, I find it shocking and insane that these kind of measures are only happening just now in the US. When you know the virus spreads through breath, why the hell wouldn't you ensure people have 1.5m of space between them? Yes, incredulous isn't it. Non-essential British stores, markets etc. have been closed for a while now, with distancing enforcement seemingly working well with cooperative customers now the panic buying morons have gone to ground. Some stores that were excluded from the directions have closed voluntarily. Many smaller produce shops have quickly adapted to click/collect or online ordering in rural areas like mine. Some disturbing images of waste bins overflowing with expired date and rotting panic-bought food being seen in the media now.
