I bought WoFF and WotR last week.
I really enjoy the weather generation and the immersive campaign system. I appreciate the fact to see the squadron evolution days after days. What a pleasure to flight from cavok to very bad weather, what a change from the optimistic nice sky of CoD.
Up to now, my comments are that I have sometimes some very huge drop of fps (from 60 fps to ... frozen), few second and the game resume to 60 fps. I think also the bailing out animation could be improved. I find it too quick and as you can see in the screen captures of one of my flight the enemy pilot managed to bail out from his Spitfire with a closed canopy !
It's break a little bit the immersion...
I want to thanks the developpers, I realy enjoy these simulations.

Welcome BilboLeFou have you tried Vons GPU tuner patch a few posts down from yours? you might just grab some extra fps (i did).
Also i believe the Devs are aware of the bailing out animation and i agree it does break a little bit of immersion.

You've got 2 great sims to go at in WOFF and WOTR,..WOFF has been around longer and seems to have a higher playerbase in fact i believe a new expansion is in the works. I sincerely hope that WOTR isn't forgotten and hopefully sooner rather than later we will get some exciting news regarding this sim aswell, take care and watch your six pal

The 'chutes drop like rocks too, but the rapid appearance is more noticeable.

I (and some others) despite otherwise good FPS, get serious but brief mega-stutter when a bigger engagement starts and a lot of sound and effects are going on simultaneously, which may be what you are describing... https://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4491472/1/performance-problem. VonS's useful mod didn't affect this, nor did tweaking graphic settings, so in my case may be due to my somewhat under-par 1.5GB GTX250.

I have the option not to fly in bad weather selected (more realistic IMHO) and still love the variety in clouds, weather and lighting.

I do hope you will post some more screenies in the WotR pics thread here, or accounts of your experiences on the AAR thread, short or long, always good to hear from other players and share our enjoyment.

Good hunting!

Welcome BilboLeFou, Hope you enjoy both WOFF PE and WOTR. They are definitely jewels in the Combat Flight Sim Genres. There is an in game Map Mod which is truly a 'must have' mod. If you can't find it, let me know and I will e-mail or Dropbox it for you Sir.

Thanks all for the informations,
I was not aware of the modding possibility of these sims. I found in the forum the picture of the enhanced map but unfortunatelly the repository site seems to be disabled (hangar22.wordpress.com)
I also hope that WotR will benefit of the WoFF latest development, it would be sad if it were abandoned.
It's so unusual to have a quality sim focused on the story building of the pilot and the squadron. Moreover, I found the IA pretty realistic and this is a really a good point.
