Why did God create Florida?

So New Yorkers would have a place to live when they get fed up with living in NYC.

FR? They don't go to NJ when they are fed up with NYC?

Maybe a small number do but FL also gets a ton of people from NJ as well.

And that's just domestic migration. There's also the foreign immigrants that FL gets from Latin America.

"Too much money" is a relative notion.

While Florida is a well-known retirement destination, I was surprised at the industrial scale. There was a news article on TV here about retirement villages encroaching onto other peoples land, so had a look on Google maps. You need to get through a rudimentary security barrier to get in to these things but they are supposed to be public roads, then there are many square miles of housing, all with immaculate lawns but very little signs of life.
What do these people do? If it's anything JG Ballard's take on gated communities, it's not going to end well.
