Alicatt is quite the chef.
As for me, I am barely able to properly boil water.

I do make a pasta dish with orecchiette, it has a seafood cocktail and Mediterranean vegies with a creamy garlic sauce I alternate that dish with the same pasta and substitute bacon for the fish with the Mediterranean vegies and a herby creamy tomato sauce, my son prefers the bacon to the fish but I like both.
Here is one I made tonight with spek or bacon

Yup, I love to cook and with a large family makes it quite the test to keep everyone satisfied, there was only 14 for dinner tonight, it could quite easily have been 22 or more.
I have been missing the regular visits from the kids and grand kids for dinner on a tuesday or friday evening with the current lockdown, but it has now been relaxed here so we can have the family around.
Yesterday our eldest daughter was here cooking waffles for dinner as she could not come for dinner tonight and she needed a test subject for the waffles as she had never baked them before ... it was a learning experience for all of us
It was her birthday last month and we all chipped in and got her a really good waffle iron and yesterday was the first time she used it

I've been single for so long I'm just used to cooking for one. I'm also very conscious of my cooking, always worried if it's up to scratch. When my brother comes over on film night I always suggest the chippy or the chinese to spare me from cooking. My brother never complains but then again he doesn't eat meat and I don't cook the sort of stuff he would like.

It's something I have to take into account too, our youngest daughter had/has Chron's disease and has lost a bit of her intestine, she cannot tolerate certain foods and needs extra protein in her diet plus she is pregnant just now so anything with garlic must be kept away from her
NoFlyBoy, quite used to cooking for large numbers, my family had a hotel for many years and cooking for large numbers was the order of the day. I'm not trained or done any cooking classes and at this stage of life wondering if it was a missed opportunity.
