It was my impression that Blacklist sold very well so I'm also at a loss as to why the Splinter Cell series seems to have been put on ice.

Maybe but I think they will think twice now about making such drastic changes when you consider what happened with the initial release of GR Breakpoint. The consumers reacted very negatively and Ubisoft took note!

you would be surprised, wildlands got a huge boost after they fixed it. the original division too got a huge sale boost after patch 4. Same for rainbow six after operation health, most people came somewhat around that and the start of season 3. R6 is one of their most profitable games, wildlands broke their records, so yeah, it pays up to fix your game instead of dumping them.....something EA and capcom could learn

There is no way I can see them getting rid of the drones bollox... I bought the game awhile back when it was cheap as chips in a sale.
Graphically I like it compared to Wildlands. although for me Wildlands is by far the better game.
The only thing that will make me get back into it is when they introduce the AI team, which has been asked for for months.

maybe the end of the year, so dont hold your breath, the game just got a huge update.

There's a free weekend going on with this game if anyone else wants to give it a shot. 60GB, so don't expect to jump right in.

I admit it. I bought it.
The sale at $20 plus I still had a $10 coupon on Epic, so I got the game for $10. I still don't like the idea of drones and the armor face mask baddies, but I do like that the game settings are really deep and I could set it up how I want. There is a LOT of customization available.

My friend and I played the new Splinter Cell crossover missions over the weekend and they were very well done in my opinion. It's great to hear Michael Ironside's voice again.
