Hi all, 1st of all a big thank you to everyone who keeps improving this series you guys have done some incredible work.

I still have the original boxed version of EECH but a few weeks ago I grabbed both sims off GOG, I'm patched up to the latest 16.1 I think it is and I'm wondering what the best settings are for graphics and gameplay are. I've noticed that the water file in the .ini seems to revert back to 0 even after I changed it to 1 any ideas??.

I seem to have the controls sorted using a joystick is there any decent tutorials that can be recommended to start with? I also own trackir that works brilliantly with the series.
Any info/ help going forwards would be most welcome..cheers all
Regards Adger

Hi.

Hard to tell which INI settings will be best for you, usually game configuring process is a way of trial and errors.

dynamic_water can be disabled automatically if texture_colour=0 (2 is default value), or waterinfo.txt file is missing in water textures folder.

There is no in-game tutorial or training missions, so first you need to check PDF files included in GOG installer and eech_keyguide_3.pdf in allMods installer.

Link to EECH Central (Wiki) you can see in forum header. Some information is outdated but will be helpful anyway.

@thealx thanks pal,and thanks for your mod installer page..great stuff. Cheers for the info regarding the water info il check my ini file.

EECH central looks really well done,I think il do some reading then test some flying and gunnery in free flight mode before I start any campaign..can you recommend a good steady starting campaign for a newbie mate?

You can start with campaigns for default maps - like Yemen and Lebanon. I can recommend Alaska as simplest map, quite boring but good for learning.

Several words about in-game configs. If you are familiar with flight simulators, you can enable all dynamics options but over-torque and blade stall, as they are really makes game harder.
Difficulty level can be set to Easy so you will get less damage, and avionics to simple - since 1.16.1 it does not apply any limitations but makes some things easier. After several hours of play you can increase these settings one by one.

That may be true, but default maps are more stable. I can't recommend getting into mods before at least some game experience will be gained.

are you sure that controls configured properly? if rudder set to some slider or twist grid, which not centered in start position, you will have same issue.

Yep pretty certain that I have thealx..but I will look over them again. Strange thing is that I had no issues for the 1st couple of hours playtime then all of a sudden this started happening?? But I do use the twist stick on the joystick to control the rudders so il look there 1st..thanks for the advice pal.
