The first aircraft I ever flew in was an Auster, from Ringway which is now Manchester Airport. That would have been in 1949 or thereabouts.
Visiting Ringway for aero-spotting I was familiar with the De Havilland Dragon Rapides, but on a holiday at Blackpool I did a round the tower joyflight in a De Havilland Dragon, which had preceded the "Rapide".
Just now at GameRanger we have been flying Moggy's IRAQ. In that part of the war De Havilland Dragons were used as enemy bombers, so we flew a co-op intercept.
