A company, 3rd Battlion 134th Inf Regt. 34th Div. I deployed a Platoon+ AT gun + 2 Mg's while awaiting a Counter Attack by elements of 167 Volks , and 1st SS Panzer Div. in a small village. I think that I deployed too wide to cover all the villages approaches. They hit us on the left flank with a platoon of infantry. then a Company up the middle. My AT gun 57mm was to far back and blocked by houses. My land lines to my 81mm mortars in the rear was dead= no Arty support. I pulled everyone back then then enemy AFV's and a 75 mm Panzer IV hit us on the right flank. My support of 2 Tanks 75mm { one was hit the other lost a track so we left it} and 1 platoon infantry + 2 60mm mortars arrived only to be shelled by enemy Arty and cut up by the Armor. I pulled everyone out leaving the AT gun. Losses: 1 Plt Inf + 2 Squads. 1 AT Gun. 2 Tanks, 2 60mm+ 1 Mg 30 cal. 2 Jeeps. kicked out of Village.
