Hey yeah - Happy Birthday DB!!

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

Hadn't flown Elite since May, but I dusted everything off last night and had a bash. Flew one of the Kraits, did some bounty work, made some pocket change. Bumped combat rank a point.

Did they remove the iced-over cockpit effect? For whatever reason this wasn't happening even when my heat was at zero. Not a big deal, but something I noticed.

D,
welcome back, m8!
Can’t answer the cockpit icing query as most of my ship are hot runners. How’d you like the biff to bounty pay?

Well, I liked it just fine, thanks for asking biggrin

I didn't get all that many kills, just an hour or so, and I was using a KWS. But I was still surprised to see it all sold for over 7 million.

What's the scoop? How much bonus are we getting, or how does it work?

Ballpark, I would say double to almost triple what it used to be. Note that the number that flashes up when the target goes down is the OLD value pretty much. The true value is on the Transactions panel. So e.g. I have seen Deadly Anacondas flash up at 200K, but up to 500K+ on Transactions panel. A fair chunk of change for Bounty Hunting. I have been doing Massacre missions when I can find them with reasonable target counts (6-20 or so). Stacking where I can. Without stacking, it usually works out to about a million credits per ship. In addition to the mission payout, the Bounties add up to another 4-6 million. Good bang for the PEW PEW buck.

Hey Rec. Thanks. That's not bad at all.

I don't need any more money really, but if I am chasing triple elite may as well get paid smile

I always need goals in this game, no matter how inconsequential, like hit 3 billion in cash on hand. So this helps.

I am chasing 7 billion, though I don't really have anything much to spend it on smile

Pew Pew is kind of fun. Community Goals are back, but the current one is ridiculous... Hand in Anomalous Bulk Scan Data, Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes, Exceptional Scrambled Emission Data and Unusual Encrypted Files. You have to TRADE them at a Materials Broker, so you don't even get to keep them for your Engineering needs. NO THANKS...

Dayum, that's livin'!

I have about 2.5B in cash. Total assets is 3.2. So that means my entire fleet and all modules are worth about 700k lol. Shoestring fleet!

DBond, "Thermal Vent" works just fine. I was out at my local HazRez on Tuesday and as long as I stayed close my Vulture was very frosty. If target moved outside a klick effect was reduced but still there. Vulture being so fast and maneuverable no issues staying on their six.

Hopefully next week we'll see a good Bounty CG (fingers crossed)

Hey Wingy. Hmmm, maybe I had the defroster switched on then? That knob's finicky anyway, either blasting all the heat on my feet or the windscreen. Can never quite get the balance right.

I find it helps if I roll the window down just a little.

That's a good tip JC. Works OK in some of my ships, but it's a bit of a tempest in the faster ones. 780 m/s is 1740 mph. Dust kicking up, coffee cup lids swirling around, maps a mess. I like the feeling of vacuum through my hair, but the post-flight clean up is a chore.

Who here still has a carrier? What is it called and where is it parked? I'd like to stop by for a visit and see one of these first hand.

Bohemond has a carrier called ANGBAND X7Q-D7Z

I think he is parked at LP 908-11 currently according to my Bookmark, but I don't know the bookmarks dynamically update

OK cool, I'll have a look to check proximity. Wingnuts has one too right?

If I find Bo's boat can I land on it?
