Been tracking this one for awhile, and every time a new video pops up I get this WOW sensation, and I have seen alot of videos of Exanima in the past! I think it´s another one man team IIRC, and it´s in EA still, but many have tried but havent been to susscesful getting very far into the dungeon. Very close, but not quite! So there is alot of gameplay nevertheless.
The mechanics are very unique, and that´s what really gets my attention. A bit of a turn off for me at my age is the lack of a map, so it´s very easy to get lost down there. Although I have seen a player leave objects in doorways as a guide to knowing he has been there before. It´s a hardcore dungeon RPG if I ever saw one!
Another one bites the challange...
It´s at GOG, and I need to buy it someday!

Played about a half hour yesterday, most in arena practice mode.
Yeah, one needs to practice combat in this game before you jump on to exploration that´s for sure. If you don´t want to put in some time and patience with it, or you can´t stand being frustrated, skip this game/gem I would say, but if you feel it´s up for you, you will be very surprised. It´s one of those games that you need to try it for you´re self to know what it´s all about, it´s hard to explain the sensation one gets while playing.
There´s so many things to take into account in combat with this game. Really fascinating how for example you have to use foot work to dodge, or circle your opponent in certain situations, or put you´re body in close to avoid a swing. Very much as one would do in fencing in real life, or at least how it´s seen in some older movies
Real nice and a change in what one is used to playing.
This is about the best video series as of late, and the one I followed last year...
It´s still WIP not only because of it´s complexity, but also because the devs are working on the second title Sui Generis ( a more ambitious project) at the same time. Exanima is more of a dungeon, and Sui Generis the outer world, I think they are linked.
It will be awhile before full release, but the asking price for Exanima is not that bad, so happy to support a unique game, and the hard work put into it by a small team.
