This sort of thing intrigues me, so I looked a little further, and reportedly he didn't think the world was round or flat, but shaped like a frisbee.

There is also some evidence he didn't think that either, but used it for promotional purposes.

No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

If it wasn't just for publicity and he really did want to see for himself he could have taken an edge of space flight in a MiG29
https://migflug.com/flights-prices/mig-29-edge-of-space/
Its not even that expensive really. prices start from Eur 17500. I'm sure the FE community could have crowdfunded that.

From what I've seen so far the rocket was only calculated to get him to 5,000 feet, or a little over 1500 meters. And from the look of the video he didn't exceed that by much, if he reached it at all. It was powered by steam, for crying out loud. Lots of power, but it's power-to-weight ratio probably sucks big time. These days you can charter a small airplane or helicopter and get more than twice as high for far less than was spent on his deathtrap. Not only that, but I would guess that anyone who could watch the program already knows all of that.

When you think about it, this was inevitable. The Science Channel, Discovery, The History Channel, and others have been getting more and more "out there" with some of their shows and limited series for quite a while. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

I thought I read somewhere proof that the earth couldn't be flat because cats would of pushed everything over the edge.

Someone commented of his steam rocket. It was steam that one seen coming from the back of the Me163.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

I believe they said that Mike's rocket used hydrogen peroxide. It struck me at the time that the Me-163 used that and something else to generate it's thrust.

But the thrust wasn't the problem here. The 163 had wings and flew (glided) to a landing. This contraption relied on a parachute that clearly wouldn't have been up to the task if it hadn't detached on liftoff. In fact, is it just me, or does that look very similar to what happened to Evel Knievel at the Snake River Canyon. Except, of course, his 'chute didn't come off.

Interesting opinion, that 2014 FE re-launch was used as weapon(?).

He flew it before (in 2018?) and the chutes worked OK. Now of course I'm guessing it's the same rocket.... maybe this was something different.

EDIT: Found video of the prior flight. Not sure if it was the same rocket, though:

That was the T-stoff.

C-stoff was
Methanol CH3OH ~57% by weight
Hydrazine hydrate N2H4 · H2O ~30% by weight
Water H2O ~13% by weight

Unfortunate chap, R.I.P.
Sadly flat earth or not The Force ~ Gravity still applies. According to Einstein its the space / time fabric that is actually curved.

That's actually why the earth's surface is curved AFAIK.
But then again its pointless to discuss advanced theory like this with local inhabitants.. and its actually forbidden outside of Starfleet!

To those who wonder the real valid mystery on the subject started not from modern speculators or other idiots but from ancient Vedic and Buddhist scrolls which describe or represent the Earth as a Mandala called the Bhu Mandala.
These Mandalas are @ maps / puzzles that are meditated upon to recieve enlightenment. Without the enlightenment you can't decypher the map and thus you can't get to the places beyond the Himalaya / northern light barrier or the Antartic ice shield, namely Shambala and Mt. Meru, etc.
Tthus you remain a mortal human trapped in the Torus of the 3d videogame-like planet you inhabit like you are supposed to be!

If anyone needs a look how this torus works just go into any 3d video game world like EAW for instance - fly to end of the world - "the Wall' we call it in EAW. The Great Barrier in Star Trek.. loll.. There you see the same game tile world you could flew around forever in a circle were it not for the illusion of the wall..
Obviously there is a lot more work to somehow tie that torus into a flat world theory but whatever..
I could go on and describe how actually all those game squares or 'tiles' as we call them are actually not even the flat squares they appear top be but rather begin as triangles on a D3d surface, etc.
Anyway, if you get some of that you Voila' understand 3d game programming code and get a nice job and forget about trolling questions of a flat world!

I hope he got high enough for his last words to be, "Oh s*#t....the world is rou...."

There's plenty of outrageous ignorance to go around in today's world!

Whilst I'm not a conspiracy theorist there's also too many that believe everything the media spoonfeed them.

What do you mean media? There are lots of other I will call 'official' sources of nonsense..

I don't read their lunacy, DM. Do they really make that argument? That's like saying your car goes faster because you push down on the accelerator. Gasoline has nothing to do with it.

I think you misnamed poor Dart, but I'm happy to jump in smile yes this is one of the crazy ideas.

The idea is that all the atmosphere above you is somehow pushing you against the Earth. Your body is denser than the air so it gets pushed down, while a helium balloon has less density so it gets pushed less. Like how a ball under the water gets pushed up because it's less dense than water. I'd really like to clarify that some more so it makes some sort of sense, but that's about as much sense as it makes :/ Never mind that it takes gravity to know which direction to push biggrin

Another baffling concept is that there is no gravity, it's the (flat) Earth accelerating up at 9.8m/s/s. Constantly. Forever.
