I am flying a German campaign in October 1917 in Flanders and every flight I get this mix of snowy squares and no-snow squares on the landscape (see attached screen shot). Doesn't seem quite right. Looking for some input regarding this being normal or abnormal, and if abnormal what I might do to fix it up.

I have tried a simple 'overlay' re-install of WOFF PE over my old install and it made no change.

Cheers!

Scout;

Give us some more details such as where you were flying (closest town, airfield, some point of reference). Maybe some of us can try to duplicate flight in that area to see what we get,
Also, what mods do you have active.

Best Regards

Hi Robert: Very good of you to take the time to investigate and post. Thanks!!

I have no mods active. Your screenshot shows no anomalies so that seems to indicate it is not a WOFF problem, rather something particular to my install?

Scout;

That is very weird mate! Don't see how you can have some tiles with snow and some without. Very strange.

What kind of graphics card do you have? Specifically, how much memory? I occasionally had this problem before I upgraded my video card.

I think this also may occur if your system resources are low.

I upgraded to an RTX-2070 with 8 GB of memory just a couple of weeks ago. System memory (on motherboard) is also 8GB.

You need a totally clean install to see if it's any old mods or issues causing it.
See section 17 of the FAQ and wipe out the old install, and in with the new install of UE then PE then latest PE patch.

Also if you have not, make sure you have a clean install of RTX 2070 latest NVidia drivers installed.

Hi Pol, I find it interesting that only fragments of the terrain were affected. I would have thought it was an all or nothing kind of thing.
Always new challenges to ponder. I'm in agreement that a fresh install is the best thing. Who knows what else may be affected.

Best Regards folks.

Yep something is broken, what I don't know is what. As no one else has reported a checker board pattern it is very likely a local broken install.

I remember having a similar problem, on occasion, of chequered shadow tiles if flying in rainy and/or overcast conditions while I was running WOFFue in WineSkin on the Mac Mini (and relying on the Intel Integrated HD 4000 vid. card that was maxing out at around 1 GB RAM - the integrated cards essentially "share" or borrow ram from the rest of the operating system). I can't remember what I did precisely to get rid of the problem - since it's been a few yrs. after running that kind of setup - but I think the solution was to dial back the settings in the WOFF menu - particularly things like forest density, also shadow quality, etc. Running most of those settings either at minimum, or no better than mid-range - most likely solved the problem since I don't think it ever showed up again. In short, it may be a video card bottleneck or limitation of some kind - more than a broken WOFF install. Hope some of these suggestions help you to sort the problem out.

Success! A wipe clean and fresh reinstall of WOFF has solved the problem. All seems to be working fine now. Thanks!!

Hi!

Ive also having this issue, but first i just thought this was as the game was.

So i (again) reinstalled the game as per the FAQ section 17, and now when i try a quickflight my results are even worse tbh. I set time to both Autum and then winter, but the scenery is still the default summer one. Like now the scenery's are disabled alltogether?

My WOFFScenery folder is located under c:\odbsoftware\woff

I will elaborate further but i do admit it is a bitter taste as all my current careers are gone due to the wipe n reinstall.

I am running an Ryzen 7 2700 8 core, 16gb, Radeon RX 590 8mb. WOFF PE with latest patch. (computer-wise using all latest drivers ofcourse).

EDIT UPDATE:

Well, new pilot at Nov '16, after 1 day world updated and now i see all the trees again in autumn colors. So it seems to work. When does the winter kick in?
