bro.. just trying to help... you can get a NEW 2070 SUPER for that price... which is basically a 2080
Don't be so fast...the 1080ti smashes the 2070 Super in most games/benchmarks. I'd say that's a great price for the 1080ti card (not sure what you previously had it at)
Actually - as someone who currently owns examples of both 1080Ti and a 2070 Super - I'd have to disagree. The 1080Ti is a monster, no doubt. But the 2070 Super holds it's own, and in side-by-side here, the 2070S comes out on top (in the exact same system). Although, yes, there are some games where the 1080Ti is clearly stronger, the same could be said for the 2070S in other games. Depends on what you're testing (and there are videos all over online to show this). So, overall, I wouldn't say the 1080Ti 'smashes' a 2070S. They are, in a word, comparable - in my opinion.
There's also the exact model/specs. The 1080Ti here is a factory overclocked model, while the 1080Ti I have (as one example) is strictly a 'reference' model. Similarly, some 2070S models are clocked differently as well.
And you have to factor in age, no matter what else you're comparing. The 'youngest' 1080Ti will almost certainly have been built (and run) a couple years before the 'oldest' 2070S, unless you find some super rare exception - and when you're considering the sale/purchase of a card, age/hours of use matters. Not necessarily *the* deciding factor, but still part of the equation. Even without moving parts (fans/pumps), and with solid state electronics, things are not perfect.
The 1080Ti is obviously a remarkable performer, of course, and IMHO the price adjustment was both wise and timely
In fact (as with
everything GregP comes along to offer here) I'm considering the unit myself
EDIT: And, holy crap, wouldn't you know...soon as I open my yap, it sells LOL Good for you, GregP
