RIP Captain Yelland (only remembered he was Captain, had to look up the name). "The Final Countdown" (1980).
The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in Gives way and suddenly it’s day again The sun is in the east Even though the day is done Two suns in the sunset, hmph Could be the human race is run

I always appreciated Kirk Douglas as I do many from that special generation. I loved that twinkle in his eye and all the myriad of things conveyed with that big smile of his. I also admired his athleticism and athletic involvement with his pictures and his military service. I don't know the first movie I saw him in but it was probably something like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He led a long and fruitful life.
I loved his work with Kubrick in Paths of Glory. I highly recommend the criterion collection disc for all of the extras and transfer quality (which goes without saying for criterion releases! haha). I still have not watched Spartacus so I need to put that film and a few others by Mr. Douglas on my viewing list. https://www.criterion.com/films/27522-paths-of-glory
