I chose option 3. I’ve never used rudder pedals in my PC flight simming “career”. Do you not fly WWII / prop sims, or do you have twist stick rudder control?

Interesting. I'm not left handed, but I have always preferred rudder pedals. It seems more accurate to real aircraft, and also gives me differential braking in some sims. I think in my case there are three major reasons why I haven't bought a full-fledged rudder pedal unit. The twist rudder stick has worked fine for me, I don't really have the sufficient space under my desk for a rudder pedal unit and I don't want to spend the extra money for one.

I did have a stick adaptable for either hand, but went right handed with HOTAS as their was no alternative than right hand. Didn't really experience any difference; inept with both! We lefties have to adapt throughout our lives, though when I was presented with some left-handed scissors, so used to adapting, I was as awkward using them as a right-hander would be. The only time being a lefty was an advantage was during my fencing career in which I beat a number of opponents more skillful than me but unused to left-handed opposition, especially those representing Middle-East nations where left-handedness is discouraged.

I would think left-handedness would be discouraged as well in Britain since that vile Napoleon was left handed!

I'm a lefty, but always used right handed mouse and HOTASway easier to adapt IMO

On top of that, they're getting harder to find these days. I have the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals, and like them a lot, but they are no longer produced so I bought a backup to have off ebay a few years ago.

I went so far as to completely rewire mine so they have both a USB and a gameport so they can plug directly into my Uber II NXT modded HOTAS Cougar so I can program them. Comes in very handy for adding stuff like "boost" to the toe brakes for space sims.

I did have a stick adaptable for either hand, but went right handed with HOTAS as their was no alternative than right hand. Today VKB and VirPil make left hand sticks grips and GVL224 make right hand throttles (single and dual engines). VirPil Constelation and Thrustmater T.16000M are ambidextrous grips, both with twist rudder.

While a lefty, I can do many things right, also. Works with the HOTAS/joystick and even mousing. I'm faster and more accurate with left mouse, than right, but either works for casual gaming. I've been thinking about coming down from a full HOTAS setup to just a stick, the Thrustmaster T.1600M is appealing. I'd probably still using it right hand, though.

I haven’t simmed in well over a decade, but when I started serious ones (Falcon 3.0, F15SEIII, Tornado, etc) way back in the early 90s I bought a Thrustmaster FCS & WCS and just trained my stupid (right) hand to fly. It didn’t take that long, so I lost my excuse as to why I was so bad at everything LOL

As a lefty, I use mouse in my left hand, so any WASD mappings (non-flight sims) get moved to Keypad mappings. NEVER used a stick in my left hand though... I doubt I could do so comfortably..

My dad was a lefty but used a stick righty. I see it as similar to driving, for me as a righty, I am most comfortable with a left-hand stick-shift. Have some difficulties with right-hand stick-shifts. This is purely down to familiarity & muscle memory, plus a situation where there is simply not another option.

Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden also fenced Southpaw. I believe he actually won some titles so there must be something to it. Although being cack handed myself, as to the poll it's kinda hard to say. I swap and change between left and right as the mood takes me. That's for both flight sticks and mouse.

Saw him at quite a few tournaments, but never faced him as I was fencing epee, he sabre. Being very fast and strong, aggressive in the attack made up for his lack of stature. Considering his wealth, he had the grubbiest kit I've ever seen, but was said to be gracious and friendly without ego to fellow fencers.
