Hi All,
Here are some shots of a model I finished yesterday. It's Great Wall Hobby's 1/144 Vulcan, shown after it's emergency diversion to Rio at the end of Black Buck 6. I'm sure you'll be aware that the Black Buck missions were flown against Argentinian forces occupying Port Stanley in 1982. The recovery to Rio was an outstanding piece of airmanship, that you can read about HERE.
]
It's posed on a simple base, with Preiser 1/144 NATO figures to represent the crew. There's a full build log int he 'Completed Models' page of my blog.

UNDERSTEER - is when you hit the wall with the front wing.
OVERSTEER - is when you hit the wall with the back wing.
HORSEPOWER - is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE - is how far you can take the wall with you.

Very nice. cheers

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

A deal was struck on 4 June under which they (the interned Vulcan crew) would be released in exchange for spare parts for Westland Lynx helicopters

Got to love politics huh biggrin

Lovely bit of kit mate but why 1/144, do you like the challenge or are you just mad? Even 1/48 makes me want to move to 1/32 on some builds.

Thanks chaps. It's part of my Falklands collection Ajay. I'm doing some of the larger aircraft in 1/144. I've finished a Victor and there's a Canberra and Skyvan to do too. 1/144 is a lovely scale for these size aircraft, no cockpit detail to worry about! (I may well get the new tool Vulcan and Victor in 1/72 when my kit buying ban ends, as they will build up in to very impressive models. No idea where I'll store them though!)

cheers
Gareth

Kit buying ban, whose been a naughty boy well biggrin

I hit the storage issue myself one kit ago, the cabinet is already over full and the Spit has no home. Going to do the hike and grab another one tomorrow which should see me through four more kits. My F-111 and Warspite are already coated in dust so i may have to cover them with a box until i can make or buy a cheap case for them. 3rd world problems huh.

Not me! When I got the 1/12 Mazda Sarah jokingly said if I don't buy any kits for a year I can have another MFH kit for my next birthday in September. Sauber C9 is already lined up. Only 7.5 months to go. The best bit is I'm getting in to some kits tht have been stashed for years, the Vulcan being one of them.
