First of all let me say, I just got this title so I am learning myself, so this tutorial is to help me remember!

Many complaints about the interface lack of control etc, I can see why. So to simplify this situation I'm using Voice Attack (on Steam) control software so I can say the command instead of memorizing the many commands, this makes the interface much easier and more intuitive.

I wont include the keyboard shortcuts here, but will mention the error in the controls, to "enable cursor" in sight view press CTRL only one not twice.
LMB left mouse button
RMB right mouse button
Enter Range = Axis S ??? doh!
Snuggle to sight = V ??? doh! I usually snuggle out of sight!

The problems for me start off immediately in the "tutorials" many commands in the manual have been disabled (OK but they dont mention it) in the targeting tutorial the driver goes where he wants, but you can interrupt and change direction. It appears that in the targeting tutorial the only position available in the gunner and viewing the "sights or reticles" and the external view.

Sites seem to include:
  • main gun
  • machine gun
  • periscope

In an attempt to understand the site symbology.
Note below when the Azimuth indicator reads 180 the main gun is pointing directly forward.

Note: the small red box will move around the perimeter of the "Nav bar" as the turret of view angle rotate.

Left 15 means turn left 90 degrees.

Correlation of site view and map view of targets. These targets were moving so may have been hidden when screenshot made.

Hopefully I will expand and edit as I learn more.

This is great Slippery_Rat,thanks!

The one thing that drove me away from Graviteam games was the interface. I love the game content but there is a lot to learn with the UI and to me it wasn't very intuitive. I remember finishing the driving tutorial but didn't manage much else.

Maybe I'll give this another go. I look forward to more.

I assume that you are aware that there are manuals (tank, tactics and controls) in the docs folder?

I must admit,I've only given them a casual glance in the past.

It needs a real involvment and it's hard to come back after being away for a year, I hesitate myself to do so.

However I did it once, and am sure glad I did, for it's a deep game, very enjoyable to half master.
