I do suggest the first SFC...

Seems you can get the SFC: OP CD from Dynaverse too.

Sad to say no, I never did. So I uninstalled it and more or less forgot about it.
I did have Orion Pirates and SFC III (which I played the most of the series), but haven't gotten around to actually looking for them to try and see if I can get them to work.

I'll post the results if I get to it.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

I totally forgot that I played SFC 3 which was the final game in the series and you could even command Shinzon's Romulan battleship that he used in "Nemesis".

The boardgame was/is very good, known as Starfleet Battles, thats why the diehards liked the first SFC (Gold) on PC, because it´s the closest to the original boardgame. The rest are fun, but more gamey so to say, being Orion Pirates the least.

What's a boardgame? wink

On a serious note, I think Scrabble was the last boardgame I played and that was about 7 years ago. The 90's was really the last decade where I played boardgames frequently.

I played Star Fleet Battles a lot in the late 90's. My cousins and I both had it, and many of the expansions.

Fun board game.

I given up.

I also started a campaign as the Klingon and same thing:

going from sector to sector and doing the same thing over and over.

A different mission will pop up maybe once for each day I play it for about 3 hours and some day, it doesn't.

Klingons feel like they are underpowered in that game. Disruptors did not feel like they were translated well for the video game. In the board game you could fire they once a turn (photons took 2 turns, plasma took 3) but in the VG they always felt like they charged too slow.

That makes the Mirak (Kzinti in old SFB) feel so much more OP than the Klingons because they skew heavier towards drones (missiles).

Mirak are my jam in that game though.

In Star Trek The Undiscovered Country and in Star Trek Generations, the Klingon had a ship that could fire when cloaked.

None of the ships in Starfleet Command 2 that cloak can fire when cloaked.
