Gang,

As you already know I've upgraded IL2 to BAT 372. I was wondering about getting some campaigns to play and I read the DGEN can help me out with that. The thing is, now that I have BAT added a lot of the folders have changed their names and I have no idea how to install DGEN into the 'mix'.

Did you visit the BAT misions subforum at SAS ?

There's a fantastic revisit of DGEN adpated to BAT done by vampirepilot there.

Can I ask question here about same DGEN please?
After years of not playing have now BAT 3.7.2 and latest DGEN. Big problem now is that I can no longer play "stock" campaigns. When trying generate they simply vibrate and lock pc.
Much thanks for any help or please move to proper topic.

I'm still taking my time getting this set up.

Well I have to say vampire has proven to be SINGULARLY UNHELPFUL. All I get from his is a lecture on how poor my reading comprehension is rather than help walking thru the installation process. Perhaps you can assist me 'in laymans terms'. I've downloaded the DGEN for BAT but I am having problems installing it and getting access to the new campaigns.

I don't think I can be of much help as I rely so much on others and trial and error!
Anyway I did exactly as Vampire said in his post concerning his version of DGEN for BAT on the SAS website.
First of all I made the silly error of trying to extract files to my main BAT directory [I have the downloaded parts on my C drive and my game is on the D drive]. Nothing worked!
I then decided to copy all three components of the download manually into my main BAT directory. I opened the skins file and put the three skin contents singly into the CR 42 folder.
Then, having downloaded the patch I put that in the BAT directory and let it replace the current one.

Don't forget to delete the original DGEN and DGEN.exe folders before you start. As Vampire says, it is a replace rather than "override." Can't remember exact words!
I'm sure someone else will be able to explain things better than I can.
Best of luck, Gwalch.

OK before we go one (and I too, excised the 'original' DGEN folder before I did this!) a couple of question from this novice to you: do the campaigns just 'show up' in the pilot career menu or is there somewhere else I need to go to seek them out;?
Then when they say the main BAT directory, I am conflicted if we mean the main IL2 directory or is there a sub directory for BAT?

If everything has been done correctly they will show up in the career menu. Lots German campaigns for a start.
As for the "directory" it is the game directory. Simplest way I found is to click on your game symbol on your desktop \ screen. Click properties then open file location so that you are "in" amongst all your game files. then drag and drop the DGEN components over to it. You will then see "copy to IL2 - WHATEVER YOU HAVE NAMED YOUR GAME. Just drop it there and it will find its own place. Do this with DGEN and DGEN. EXE and then skins and after, the DGEN update.
You say you deleted the original DGEN folder, don't forget to delete the DGEN exe too.
I'm sorry if unable to explain better but I really am not good at these things and still hope someone else will be along later to offer more and better help.

You took the time to talk me thru the process in simple steps--and you know what? It worked! I've got DGEN campaigns!

You have my gratitude!--unlike that other person over at SAS. If it weren't likely more BAT stuff might be coming down the line, I'd dump my membership permanently.

THANKS again!

You're welcome; maybe SAS should be thanked but the message had to be filtered & delivered politely thru a regular person before I could understand it
