+1 on "The Camera Eye" video. That song to me was the highlight of the Time Machine tour (2010-11) as they played the entire Moving Pictures album and it was the first time I'd heard it live.

I'm still in shock over this. I knew touring was done but I always thought there'd be a reunion show, probably in Toronto, and we were going to be there if at all possible. The only tours we've missed since "Roll the Bones" were "Test for Echo" and "Snakes & Arrows", only because we were in the process of moving.

++++++++++

I don't want to write a giant wall of text so I won't get started, just to say that many of us could relate to the awkward unpopular kid in the "Subdivisions" (1982) video...

Got my first girlfriend the beginning of '84 (wife'd her 4 years later) so I no longer cared about any cliques or parties I wasn't invited to. Rush's music (with Neil's lyrics) was a comfort, relevant and weird music for weird kids (and I was a weird kid). I quickly shifted to more romantic tunes but never stopped enjoying early Rush (my love for mid-80's Rush would come later...embracing a steady beat for exercise). Then with an aging softer sound, Rush became more accessible until even the Mrs. started to like them (and eventually, much of the harder older stuff). Those concerts were so much fun, especially when the lights went out to the intro of 2112.

++++++++++

One from the vault, a recent concert surprise...

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

Want to post two more videos of Time Machine, my favorite concert intro where Rush does a little comedy acting...

I would not be surprised if Ringo agreed with you.

Had a Rush DVD marathon this weekend watching bits of concerts, documentaries and the Chronicles music videos.

I'd forgotten that the Time Machine concert in New Orleans was the year after the Saints won their only Super Bowl. Geddy did a "Who Dat" which further intensified an already energized crowd. That was a special evening...

Speaking of energized crowds...

Rush - YYZ Live (Rio)...

EDIT: About the above video...
1. Neil wrote in one of his books that they were totally feeding off crowd energy when they recorded "Rush in Rio".
2. Recorded Nov. 2002, members of Rush were just turning 50.
