There is a new installation here, for both general use and multiplayer

UAW160 2020

As usual it is a 7-zip self installer. It will create a "UAW160 Multiplayer 2020" stand-alone folder.

24th March 2020

Because numerous patches were added since the original post I have updated the download so that the patches are included.
Consequently I have removed the links to the redundant patches
smile

28th March 2020: I have updated the download today, with a better "eaw.ini" file, and the latest versions of several things.

There are 70 planesets to select from wink

I will be editing this single post by adding download links when new material is available for UAW160 2020.
The latest additions will be at the bottom of this post.
If you are reading this and downloading stuff as a guest I strongly suggest that you join SimHQ so that you can make comments or ask for help in this forum

7th February 2020
I have been working on the multiplayer code, and it is now possible for the host to set the month and day for the mission on the parameters screen.
They are transmitted to the players, and when the theatre has seasonal terrains it is nice to be able to switch to a different season wink

Additionally I have improved the script maker so that is shows targets with associated ship convoys.
This means that one can be selected for a ship or warship interdiction.

Tonight we flew SPAW2019MP.
A groundstarted mission from the Vic. Shogun flew the MB3, I flew a Corsair.
On the way to intercept the Betties we shot up the carrier that the escorts had left from.
We then intercepted the Betties and they were all destroyed.

So we chased the escorts, and downed some:
[Linked Image]

Then we went back and did more damage to their carrier
[Linked Image]

The Spit V AIs returned safely to the Vic
[Linked Image]

We had a lot of fun and that's what it's all about wink

Ok, so you guys have had a couple of months to try out SPAW2020MP and I was wondering if you could elaborate on the improvements versus the original SPAW.

Not looking for accolades, looking for constructive criticism.

The set-up makes it much more interesting because there are so many things to shoot at. There are more than 350 TMod types used, not counting TMogs which make even more.
Ground targets are packed with many different types of buildings, trucks, defensive weaponry and all sorts of goodies. Air bases are similar, but with many parked aircraft.
The real gem is the stacking of guns, aircraft, vehicles, boxes and several other things on ships. It is great to see the variation of shipping in convoys.
Las night's game was typical.
* We took off from my late sister-in-law's ship (HMS Victorious) to intercept Betties which had taken off from a land base at Lae. Their job was to bomb our carrier.
* Their escorts left their carrier (the IJN Taiho) , heading away from us to join the Betties.
* We had taken bombs, so on the way we bombed the Taiho, and shot up several deck objects on it, and on its escorting ships.
* We then attacked the Betties and shot them all down
* Then we went after the escorts, and downed a few.
* Some were too far away to chase, so we headed back and on the way strafed the Taiho and other ships, before heading back to the Vic, which was unscathed smile

Here is another example that we just flew for the best part of an hour

After intercepting we chased the escorts back and did a lot of damage to the Ryujo and its escorts.

Ok, thanks for the feedback.

Have you tried any of the seaplane bases using one of the floatplanes?

And, what's your opinion of the floatplanes themselves? The flight models were a bit of a challenge getting the feel of the extra weight and drag of the floats.

Ray asked me to try the floatplanes in multiplayer.
To do that I had to create a mission with appropriate seaplane bases using the MP mission making utility.

I set up an intercept mission...

I saved the mission:

A new download link (March 5th 2020) has been added at the end of the first post in this thread.
It includes a new version of the "Little BoB" theatre, and an update of the "SPAW2019FinalCutMP" theatre smile

MrJelly, I ran into a problem. When I'm trying to launch "MPUPlayerOnly.exe", " MPUPlayerV2.exe" and "Multiplayer Utility 2019.exe" I'm getting an error that "Component COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
Not sure what the problem is, or where can I download or install that file.
I'm trying to run it on Win 10 Pro 64 bit machine.

From the "Rationalisation" thread in the EAW forum:

Some time ago I received a PM from Shogun about the Mission Editor generating this error message when he tried to run it:

Run-time error 713 Class not registered. MSSTDFMT.DLL

I hit this problem a few weeks ago when I was away in Lyon and I tried to run the Mission Editor on my new laptop.
When I got back I made a VisualBasic installer program for the mission editor, which correctly installs the " MSSTDFMT.DLL" file during the installation process.

"MissionEdPackage.exe" is available here:
Mission Editor Runtimes

If you get that error then download it, and run it on your desktop.
This will create a folder named "MedPackage" and in this folder there is a "Setup.exe" file.
[Linked Image]

Run the "Setup.exe", let it install the mission editor anywhere (as the reason for running it is to install the missing file), but do not let it overwrite newer versions of files with older ones.

Re-boot and the Mission Editor should now work.

wink Jel

Kozel

I had mis-read your post thinking it was a problem with the Mission Editor.
But the problem is with the script readers.
Hunter had the same one so I made a patch.

Use this download link to get the "ScriptPlayerSU.exe" installer program

Script reader set-up

Run the "ScriptPlayerSU.exe" in your UAW160 Multiplayer 2020 folder.
It will add a "2020PlayerV5.exe" but before you can use it you must open the "Script Player SetUp" folder.
Inside it there is a "setup.exe" and you need to run it.
Install it anywhere, but do not let it overwrite newer files with older ones.

When it is finished you can run the "2020PlayerV5.exe" to load existing multiplayer scripts.
