10th May 2021I have just 7-zipped my UAW160 folder to create a download for new users and old Here is the link: UAW160 folder 10th May 2021 AFAIK no patches are needed, but new installers may hit a runtime file problem when they try to use the file-manager programs, such as the PlaneSetExeTheatreSwitchV4.exe: If that happens then check some older posts in this thread ******************************************************************************************************************* 19th April 2021This is a link to the new "Reduced UAW160V5" installation which is my current UAW160 folder Reduced UAW160 V5 You can still download the V3 optional expansions, but I think that most of the expansions are already included The versions of the "eaw.exe" provided are the new type which do not need a file-manager. The plane-set and theatre can be selected on the "Set-up" screen, but if you select a new theatre you need to exit EAW and re-start it A number of expansions, updates and bug-fixes for some of the previous versions are posted in this thread: Expansions for the Reduced UAW160V3 installation However, most, if not all of them have been included already in the 19th April release************************************************************************************************** 13th June 2020
This is an all-in-one installation that includes all the recent installations and patches 13th June UAW160 2020 full installation The file that you download is a 7-zip self installer named "UAW160Multiplayer13thJune.exe". It will create a "UAW160 Multiplayer" stand-alone folder at the point where you run it, so I suggest that you copy it from your downloads folder and paste it where you want your installation to go Inside the "UAW160 Multiplayer" folder there is a file manager program named "DSP2020MultiplayerV2.exe" Run it, select an exe and a theatre, then a planeset. The aircraft in the planeset will be listed for your information Then you can fly ************************************************************************************************** 5th July 2020- an essential patchSome time ago in anticipation of Ray's forthcoming inventory release I had renamed the "Aircraft_Inventory" folder as "Multiplayer_Inventory". I also copied the "Planesets" folder, and named it "Multiplayer PlaneSets". The planeset files in it needed to be edited, so that any occurrence of "Aircraft_Inventory" was replaced by "Multiplayer_Inventory". This would have been an onerous task, so I wrote a program to do it. My code assumed that there would be the two normal "dir.set" files in each planeset folder, file(0) being "FMDir.set" and file(1) being "PDir.set" It seemed to work well, most of the files in the folders were converted properly and the new planesets worked. However, five or six did not, and when loaded there were no visible skins to see. Testing at GameRanger last night we found the cause of the problem. There was an additional "Dir.set" file that had been put in every one of the bad folders (but not by me). They should not have been there, and alphabetically this made "Dir.set" = File(0), "FMDir.set" = File(1) and "PDir.set" = File(2). The converter program only converted File(0) and File(1) so the "PDir.set" file with the paths to the aircraft skins was not converted So there is a patch which overwrites the "Multiplayer PlaneSets" folder, and also puts the latest versions of the UAW160 exes in your "EAW Versions" folder: Link for the patch to fix some planeset file errors with the June 13th installation Download the "July05Patch.exe" and run it in your "UAW160 Multiplayer" folder. Allow it to overwrite files *************************************************************************************************** I will be editing this single post by adding download links when new material is available. The latest additions will be in this post. If you are reading this and downloading stuff as a guest I strongly suggest that you join SimHQ so that you can make comments or ask for help in this forum **************************************************************************************************

From the "Rationalisation" thread in the EAW forum: Some time ago I received a PM from Shogun about the Mission Editor generating this error message when he tried to run it: Run-time error 713 Class not registered. MSSTDFMT.DLLI hit this problem a few weeks ago when I was away in Lyon and I tried to run the Mission Editor on my new laptop. When I got back I made a VisualBasic installer program for the mission editor, which correctly installs the " MSSTDFMT.DLL" file during the installation process. "MissionEdPackage.exe" is available here: Mission Editor Runtimes If you get that error then download it, and run it on your desktop. This will create a folder named "MedPackage" and in this folder there is a "Setup.exe" file. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/8611/h91xho53qjhhog3zg.jpg) Run the "Setup.exe", let it install the mission editor anywhere (as the reason for running it is to install the missing file), but do not let it overwrite newer versions of files with older ones. Re-boot and the Mission Editor should now work. Jel

Kozel I had mis-read your post thinking it was a problem with the Mission Editor. But the problem is with the script readers. Hunter had the same one so I made a patch. Use this download link to get the "ScriptPlayerSU.exe" installer program Script reader set-up Run the "ScriptPlayerSU.exe" in your UAW160 Multiplayer 2020 folder. It will add a "2020PlayerV5.exe" but before you can use it you must open the "Script Player SetUp" folder. Inside it there is a "setup.exe" and you need to run it. Install it anywhere, but do not let it overwrite newer files with older ones. When it is finished you can run the "2020PlayerV5.exe" to load existing multiplayer scripts.

Hi there,
I recently installed the June 13th Multiplayer Installation, from the File, but when I run the DSP2020MultiplayerV2.exe File in the Folder, it says it's not a valid Win32 Application for some reason. ?
Could someone give me guidance how I can overcome this issue, I am running the File in Windows 7 64 Bit.
Also I wan't to play offline on my own, with these theaters and Planes, is this possible ? and if so how do I go about sorting that out ? Also
if not, is there an seperate installation File for just offline play ?
Also I wasn't sure which Forum to put the following in, so put it here.
Are there any other Websites, other than in the Link below, which have a load of Missions, Aircraft, Utilities etc, for the original Lucasarts SWOTL and TFH Games ?
I mean have any recently, or in the last few years, been any more Missions, Utilities etc, made for these two Games ? I really enjoy playing both in the Dosbox Emulator.
Did Lucasarts ever release the Software they used, to make the External aspects of the Planes Designs ? As all Aircraft Mods were Hex Edited. Have any actual externally new Planes, been made since for the Games by Modders ?
This was the Website I found :-
https://web.archive.org/web/20151002161309/http://home.comcast.net/~swotl/home.htm
And what an excellent Website it is !
Any help and info would be much appreciated
Regards
Eddie Winch
EDIT UPDATE :-
I have sorted out the issue, I was having problems with, a missing and unregistered .OCX, file was the issue, the Multiplayer File now runs, and I have got into the game ))
I reinstalled the package, and found out the original file was corrupt for some reason, whence the win32 bit Error Message, the OCX File Error was from the reinstalled File.
But could someone please answer, my question about LUCASARTS SWOTL and TFH, that would be great ))
Eddie

Let me explain simply As an online player I like to be able to do ground-started missions, especially with the possibility of returning to base, re-arming and then re-joining the fray. However, in an online game with the host and at least one other player there is no time acceleration and you cannot skip to the next way-point like you can in single missions, so you are flying in real time. In some theatres the target placement and the front-lines mean that ground-started multiplayer missions are impossible because it takes too long to reach the target or the enemy planes. You do not want to be sitting at a computer for an hour or more doing effectively nothing. Other theatres, including the default ETO one, have a target and front-line setup with several good possibilities for multiplayer ground-starts. The "multiplayer" installations were set-up using these "multiplayer-friendly" theatres, and without those that are not suitable for multiplayer ground-started games. You can use the "13th June UAW160 2020 full installation", which sets up the "UAW160 Multiplayer" folder, for both online and offline play. Apart from one case there is no difference between the exes that we us for online play and the ones for offline play. The one case I refer to is the "multiplayer-only" version. If you use this one there is no selection of "instant mission", "single mission", "career", etc , because it launches straight into the multiplayer screen, to save the user from having to make those choices. The theatres available in the "multiplayer" installations include some that have been edited to make them " multiplayer-friendly". The classic case is "South Pacific Air War". It was the first theatre deliberately constructed for carrier battles in single missions. The carriers were placed in historical positions. You could take off from one, use time acceleration, and engage the enemy. However, the US and Japanese carriers were so far away from each other that multiplayer ground-starts were impossible in real time. So I moved the positions of the carriers, and made a new front-line so that multiplayer ground-starts could be flown. Multiplayer theatres are not meant to be historical, but set up for some online fun
