Hi guys, Aces over Europe Gold version is online on ModDb. ----- Aces over Europe GOLD ----- Battle over the Reich 1943 - 1945 ============================- Game version 1.28C MP02 The new features of this version are: - New game interface (by Modred) - New Terrain (by vonOben) - New skins for airfields (hangars, barracks, Control Tower, etc.) - New factory in HDD (Aircraft Factory) - New Display Info (by MarkEAW) - New Pilot Map (sepia Map by Modred) -Also the patch contains: B25C multiskinpatch Bf109G14 Flyable ==================================This version has been tested with the 32-bit and 64-bit Win7 operating system and works well. It also works well with Win10. There may rarely be CTDs. The graphics card belongs to the NVidia Geforce family. We recommend 4: 3 monitors for an optimal view of the game interface. With the widscreen monitors (16: 9) which lengthen the image a bit, please consult the "Display" tab in the "Extras" directory located inside the game after installation. Nice!!!!! Thanks! - this is easily one of the very top must haves for EAW - much appreciated!
Edit: Hmmm, I am going to have to figure out why I don't get a mouse pointer showing up in this version...

Red try alt--tab out and then back in Thanks for the suggestion Already tired that (that works for IL2-1946 sometimes when I need it) - but it didn't work with this version. The mouse is indeed there (I can see the pointer briefly upon exit when I press ESC, and also if I manage to move it with an invisible pointer and manage to land on something that I can click). Worked fine in early version of AOE. I also tried to copy and paste over its eaw config file to see if that might by chance help - no luck. (Edit: I also see somebody else in the Moddb having the exact same problem).

Hello guys, thanks for the appreciation. I can't understand why the mouse pointer doesn't work for some players. It works on my PCs. The game was tested with 64 and 32 bit win7. Fat-Larry from ModDb site " I also had this same Mouse Cursor on the Main Menu Bug on Windows 10. To fix it just run your "eaw.exe" as administrator." Thanks Fat-Larry

Found a definitive fix for the Mouse Bug on Windows 10: First install the game outside Program Files(x86) or else "eaw.ini" is blocked by Windows 10 for edition. So I installed at: C:\Aces over Europe Then, Run "eaw.exe" as Administrator (It will fix Static Mouse Pointer on Screen) So if you run the game and all the Mouse Cursors are invisible so you can't click on Menu Buttons (It happened with me) do the following: First make a backup from your "eaw.ini" file then open this "eaw.ini" with Notepad and copy all the text lines inside it, so select all the text inside and press "Control + C" to copy. Then delete this eaw.ini file and run the game so a new "eaw.ini" will be generated that will fix the invisible mouse but will make the game crash when any mission starts. So open this new generated "eaw.ini" with notepad and delete all the text inside and paste the text from the original one you copied before, save the file and the invisible mouse is definitely fixed. It's working perfectly to me right now, no more bugs ======================================================= Thanks Fat-Larry - great work

Modern Force Feedback joysticks are extremely rare. I suspect this is because the FF feature is/was a failure-prone feature, and so was eliminated due to problems encountered with it. It's an electro-mechanical feature, and so will naturally have more issues than other, simpler systems
Never owned one, nor used one except in walk-in arcades,so cannot comment on the worth of the feature. I suppose the VERY astute user of FF might be able to use it to advantage, but no personal experience. I would GUESS that if such FF was deemed essential, that the market would demand its continued availability. Unfortunately, this alternative seems closed at this point. YMMV
After some looking, I've yet to see a "NEW" from the mfr, example of one of these for sale.
ETA: maybe a modern alternative: [url]https://www.amazon.com/Joystick-YF2009-Controller-Vibration-Feedback/dp/B06XGBL1HL/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=force%2Bfeedback&qid=1577914174&s=videogames&sr=1-11&th=1[.url]
I'll be looking into this.

Most modern sticks come with 'vibration feedback' rather than true 'force feedback'. They can work quite well and are useful in providing early warning of an upcoming stall. However, I'd advise caution as not all work with EAW, unfortunately. I used to have a Speedlink Black Widow joystick (now discontinued), which worked well in EAW and other flight sims-it was vibration feedback. I replaced it with the latest Speedlink vibration feedback model, but it doesn't provide vibration in EAW, although it works well in other flight sims, such as IL-2 and the TK games. Because I like the feedback, I then bought a used Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick on eBay, which is quite good.
In EAW, there is a choice of 'arcade' and 'realistic' force feedback. In the codegroup games, it defaults to the former and one must purposefully select 'realistic' each time one starts the game. Still, on full-real options, with realistic force-feedback and TrackIR, EAW remains quite an experience.
