Are the any carrier-based combat flight sims that grade your traps and track you squadron on a greenie board? I've been looking for a combat sim, either new or retro, that grades landings like in real life but I haven't turned any up.
1. Join an online squadron like VFA-41 that specializes in carrier ops and keeps an active greenie board. They award the “King of the Greenie Board crown at the end of each operational cycle. They currently fly the DCS F/A-18. Go to vfa-41.com for a look.
2. Fleet Defender F-14 an old microprose single player sim grades traps 1-4 and tracks them in campaigns. I fly it in dosbox on occasion and the sim runs fine. But it’s old.
3. In Fighters Anthology cattier landings are graded verbally by the LSO as “unsafe” “poor” or “fair” but I don’t believe a record or board is kept.
4. Janes F/A-18 is a great carrier based sim but does not grade or track landings.
Janes F/A-18 DOES track landings in your Pilot Stats...somewhat... In each MISSION the Detailed Stats show the number of Carrier Landings, the Wire catches and Average Wire catch. Not a Greenie Board per se... and I am not sure why the Carrier Landings in the main Statistic pane says 0. Possibly for THIS pilot the traps (as the one shown below) were TRAINING missions... but the Carrier Landing Day Training mission was in my MISSIONS folder rather than Training Folder...so who knows.. Might be bugged.
