For what it's worth, more impressions after 23 hours of playtime in Online.
I have not come across any situations where players ruin it for others. There was one occasion when someone appeared to be sniping me while I was hunting (he missed but I heard the bullets whizzing by me) and also a hilarious moment when someone mugged an AI character and stowed him on my horse while I was in a shop. Also in the story missions, most people I have come across seem to be making an effort to team play, or at least not interfere. Unfortunately many missions are on a timer, which practically forces players to rush in headlong when a more tactical approach would be sensible. I realize this is not ARMA, but I would like to see teamwork rewarded. Missions you play on your own (deliveries, bounty hunts...) are also on a timer, which in my opinion is a lazy way to set a challenge. I am doing the Bounty Hunter and Trader roles. Trader seems more interesting as it is linked with the Moonshining business but I am not sure if this will keep me interested in the long run. I can do all the hunting and fishing I want in Single Player without having to worry about server disconnects (I had a few of those) and, for me at least, multiplayer does not add much to that experience.
The few Free Roam Events I took part in were very much as I expected: every man for himself and prepare to die within 30 seconds.

That doesn't sound so bad, thanks for the report Johan. Can you bounty hunt players who have a bounty?
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

Yes, but only once you reach a level 12 in the Bounty Hunter role. Apparently the available bounty missions (vs AI) should get more interesting as you level up and require you to track the target. However I'm still a long way from getting there. In Trader missions other players can try to intercept you (or protect you, I guess). I've also come across human players who appeared to be defending a camp against AI raiders. Not sure if this is a feature or just coincidence.
Just spent a bunch of gold bars on customizing my guns... I wish we had the shoulder stock like Van Cleef uses in For A Few Doillars More. I'd actually pay for that LOL

I tried MP tonight. There was a mission to recover some stolen horses and I had to run matchmaking. I didn't continue (I'd had enough for the evening) but would that have teamed me up with human players?

Yes, story missions require you to team up with other players. The side missions can be played solo or as a posse. I have had several occasions where I could not continue because no other players were available. I'm not sure if the matchmaking is supposed to look for players who are about the same level as you, but it seems completely random to me.

LOL was that in valentine ? cos i`m pretty sure it was me, i lost my hat and it set up on the hills shooting off people hat with the sniper as a token to enter the town. i also mugged and placed a npc on someone horse hoping the police would go after them in the same session.

Fantastic looking game but I'm not enjoying it at all. I requested a refund even though I'm over the hours and fortunately it's been allowed.

I took the Epic deal with the $10 coupon and 25% off and I let it install while I was at work. HDR is a little Buggy, I'm seeing weird greens and pinks in snow but then I'm slightly under the minimum with a GTX 750ti but it's workable. FPS dips in the teens now and again. Looking forward to getting into it deeper this weekend.

That's what got me Trooper, and partly why I requested a refund. I don't think you can skip that part according to an answer I got earlier in the thread.

Went online (pc version), selected my character, started out after I had been set free and met my benefactor... I was roaming around the map, found some treasure etc, but then was supposed to meet some guy and find out about horse stealing. Then it tells me I have to start match making... well, I want to free roam not work with others, but can't find a way to cancel that mission.
Any ideas how I do that chaps? Just matcake, you dont have tô Join other players Just wait untill its over and Go alone. Get the horse make sure its one you like as you Will keep It. After that the world is open for you. That is just the tutorial

From Strawberry Deputy County ROADS ARE NOT SAFE Intense road thievery and armed assault activity in the last few days have spook residents of town advised CAUTION Travel only in groups; it`s for your safety Suspected aggressor has been identified to have a weird horse fetish ( not that we will judge) ; If someone tries to stop you to "admire" your horse, try to lure it with a whistle, BOLT IT to the nearest lawman or the sheriff's office and report the activity immediatly and we will aprehend this disgusting and revolting sick fiend (again we dont judge)

So I decided to pick up RDR 2 on Steam. I played it on Epic at release, but never finished it, nearly so but not quite done.
I thought I'd give it another go now that two years have passed. It's was marked down slightly for the sale, and I installed it. After R* Social Club installed/updated I was surprised to see a bunch of achievements fire. All the ones I qualified on Epic now triggered on Steam. Didn't expect that. It is even a new computer, so no remnant could have remained. This info must be saved by Social Club? Maybe just the cloud.
And then I expected to be back in the snow, the opening parts of the game, but instead it took me back to where I ended my previous run, ready to launch the final chapter. I couldn't make up my mind about whether to finish that one and complete the game, or whether to start over. So I played Tropico instead.
Not sure what to do. Leaning towards starting over.
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

. Why is that? Did you get distracted by other games? I'm asking because I've seen comments like this from quite a few gamers over the past couple of years so I'm curious about the reasons.
