Microsoft Rolls Out Giant Full-Page Reminders That Windows 7 Is About to Die

First, your OS is dying. Second, Microsoft is going to start reminding you about it.

[Microsoft is] also seriously suggesting that anyone still using Windows 7 either purchase a copy of Windows 10 (the free upgrade option may still work, if you want to try for it)

The “Hate Windows 10 at all costs,” crowd could theoretically update to Windows 8.1, which will receive support until January 10, 2023.

Besides "maybe free" noted above, there are relatively inexpensive ways to acquire W10, if one looks around. Also, I'm wondering if Microsoft might throw easy to get/install Really Free versions at W7 users at the "last minute".
