An old school outlaw biker film with Tom Hardy, Austin Butler and Norman Reedus in it? Should be ok.

It won't be released until June 21st though.

I saw the trailer for that when I went to see Dune part 2. Tom Hardy is no doubt a very good actor but the premise doesn't grab me so I'll be skipping this one.

This just dropped on Netflix.

Based on the first book of a trilogy by a Chinese author.

Reviews I've read online are calling it brilliant.

The producers also did Game of Thrones

Those same producers of Game of Thrones also ruined the last season.

I saw the trailer for Alien Romulus last night and while it looked pretty good, I'm concerned about the entire cast being made up of young college-aged actors. This implies to me that the movie is geared for a younger audience and thus may be chock full of modern day "sensibilities". I guess we'll find out in August.

I liked the trailer and had no idea about it. Positive about the comments made by James Cameron and Ridley Scott after they saw a rough cut. Fingers crossed.

You should.

They had the audacity to think they out outwrite George R. R. Martin, the original author of the novel series, since he was unable to finish the "Fire and Ice" novels in time. Arrogance on their part. Despite this, and the messed up last three seasons, "Game of Thrones" remains one of top 10 series ever to air on television.

I have confidence they'll mess up "3 Body" as well.

Shoot! I looked for an Alien Romulus trailer every week for months and finding dozen of fake trailers. Didn't check yet this week and they release the trailer.

From many news article I read, this Alvarez guy wrote a short essay outlining his idea for another Alien movie, and he showed it to Ridley Scott who immediately loved it.

For years I had a question about the end of Alien and Aliens and from everything I read, that's what Alvarez thought too and he wrote his script from it.

What is my question?

Aren't there 2 aliens floating in space, alive or dead? Both of them ejected into space by Ripley. Why no one in a passing spaceship have picked them up?

Supposedly set between Alien and Aliens, the crew of the spaceship in Alien Romulus picks up the alien floating in space. But not the one from Alien, the one from Alien Covenant, which was 11 years before Alien.

Well that's what I read. It could be true or it could be fake and put out there by the producers and director to hide the real story of the movie.

I still prefer they made the 3rd movie to finish Prometheus David Alien prequel trilogy instead of this.

Watching this teaser trailer it looks too much like Alien and even the set of the ship interior looks similar to the interior of the Nostromo.

This was originally made by HULU to play on HULU like that last Predator film, also made by HULU.

Now it's getting a theatrical release before playing on HULU.

This might just be the Star Wars Force Awaken of Alien 1979. Same story but with new special effects and new young cast.

About that 3 Body Problem, I watch the first episode and I'm already lost. Time jumping stories in movies confuse me.

In my opinion, the Alien franchise really should have stopped after "Aliens". The first two films are timeless science fiction classics that will be watched many times by many fans. All of the films after "Aliens" range from mediocre to totally forgettable.

I would of liked to see the Fincher version of Alien 3.

How about a William Gibson version of Alien 3 that's an actual sequel to Aliens? It exists in audio book form: https://www.audible.com/pd/Alien-III-Audiobook/B07QY3KR81#:~:text=Audible%20is%20bringing%20William%20Gibson's,from%20the%201986%20film%20Aliens.

I didn't totally hate Alien 3, but what it did wrong was kill off Hicks and Bishop offscreen and had some plot holes at the start. Then it was just a very mediocre remake of Alien in a slightly different setting. Since Alien and Aliens were both fantastic it's really jarring when you watch all three together. Then, things just got really silly after that. I think what did Prometheus in was it was in development hell for ages and was originally a totally different sci fi movie with nothing in common with the Alien franchise. It was eventually made to be part of Alien, and the studio wavered on that multiple times during production. I bet if they stuck to one or the other it would have been better.

The Alien bluray box set has the David Fincher Director's Cut version of Alien 3 and while I do think it's an improvement over the theatrical version, it's still overall a forgettable film in my opinion.

This. Killing them off was an insult to fans.

Promethius+ problems are mainly the characters are morons. Like, literal stupid mouth breathing idiots. That works for traditional slasher horror movies, but not at all for scifi.

Ah yes, who can forget the "expert" xenobiologist who nonchalantly wanders into that chamber with all the containers holding those dangerous creatures and acts like he's just seen a cute puppy when one of the dangerous creatures confronts him? Or how about the "expert" scout/guide who gets lost inside the Engineer ship? Ugh......

That's what made Alien so great. Yeah they might not have handled everything very well, but they also weren't equipped for anything. They were just miners and space truckers that stumbled into a horror movie. It helps that they were all fairly realistic with some good dialogue.

Alien Covenant crew was also dumb. Land on another planet and don't wear space suit because the planet has oxygen like Earth so it must be safe to breathe.
