From what I read, The Invisible Man is going to be very good, actually.
"Emma" - well, you got to at least tolerate if not like Jane Austen; but if you do, it sounds as if they did a lot of things right especially in contrast to the last attempt from the mid 1990s. According to critics.
Those are new movies. The Invisible Man was released on 2/28, The Hunt on March Friday the 13th, Emma on 2/21.

It's received stellar reviews but keep in mind this isn't your classic standard "Invisible Man" story.

I'm trying to think of the last Invisible Man show I watched and it was probably the TV series 'The Invisible Man' (1975-76) starring David McCallum, better known perhaps as Illya Kuryakin from 'The Man From Uncle'.
...or "Ducky", the forensic pathologist from NCIS who, according to Gibbs, "looked like Ilya Kryakin in his youth".

The SyFy Channel also made an Invisible Man series which lasted a bit longer than the one from the 70's.

Depends a bit on what you consider the "classic standard". The Invisible Man always had a bit of a sinister element if he used his invisibility for nefarious purposes (goes back to German expressionist movie time with "Dr. Mabuse", one of the first supervillains of cinema history). So, in this case they merged the science fiction element of an inventor of invisibility with the unhinged personality of a stalker. What could possibly go wrong?
I just looked up a list of upcoming movies for the rest of the year and aside from maybe Top Gun and Dune there's not much that really makes me want to fork over the cash and go see in a theater.
The Invisible Man on the other hand, I tried to watch but couldn't see him. :

I hear he is a polymorph who often takes on the shape of Chevy Chase.
I've always thought that would make a good and simple action movie. I mean, it's a simple premise, a simple revenge story. Not even Hollywood can screw that up...right?
Russian sci-fi movie. The story is familiar. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11905962/ The lone survivor of an enigmatic spaceship incident hasn't returned back home alone-hiding inside his body is a dangerous creature.

The "paint by the numbers" plot qualifies it to be a Netflix original sci-fi movie.

I don't understand this statement. Why would you be forced to only watch it on your cellphone? Do you not own any TV's at home with streaming capability?
