Hi, all!

I noticed a slight inaccuracy in some of the WoFF skins for the planes of the 3rd Pursuit Group USAS (28th, 93rd, 103rd and 213th Squadrons). This isn't meant as a criticism - the skins are absolutely fantastic - but I thought I'd mention it just in case the skin makers ever want to revisit it!

The inaccuracy is in the squadron wing stripes (on the upper and lower left wings).

Currently, the stripes look like this:



When, as far as I know, they should more like this:



Below are some of the markings of the 3rd P.G - as a side note, the 213th apparently ignored the original order for their numbers, going instead with the black and white outline'd numbers we have in-game. The 28th also never outlined their numbers with white, instead they had a white 'backdrop' on the fuselage, but not the wings (also seen in-game)

Where/what is the above document from?

The skinners would be the guys to comment as to any possible error but it's likely they also used good sources of research info - usually the case as you have found with the other correct details!

28th and 93rd look pretty close to that info anyway

That doc was provided by a friend of mine who's a wealth of knowledge on the USAS (particulary the 3rd P.G). I'll need to ask him where he originally found it!

Unfortunately, the 3rd P.G wasn't the most photographed unit, but I did find a pic of Edgar Tobin sitting in a 103rd SPAD VII where you can see the wing stripes!

What makes it harder to find a good picture of the stripes is that many of the planes initially didn't have any wing stripes whatsoever when photographed, as they were added later.
