We Yanks don't have many dishes with meats and fish in pastry. I can only think of pot pies.

It's all in the marketing. Even raw, all those other meat cuts (beef, pork, etc . . .) tend not to be accompanied by pictures of sad cow eyes or nasty swine rutting in their own feces. And when it comes to fish, I don't need to see any of their selfies - just put a photo of the already breaded and fried fish sticks on the box next to a glop of tartar sauce.

One of the contestants tonight made sardines on toast.

It's pretty but as a Yank, I won't eat it.

That looks rather fancy. I just empty the tin of sardines (cold) onto my toast and I'm done.

She did not move to next week's contest with that sardines on toast. The judges thought it was just sardines on toast, nothing fancy and the eggrolls things next to it filled with squid and prawn were not good.

I like most varieties of fish but not sardines. They're just too fishy smelling for me.

After 6 weeks, MasterChef is on final 4 contestants. Going here next week.

It's final week. The final 3 contestants will cook tomorrow night for the winning trophy.

Tonight they went to cook at this 3 Michelin Stars restaurant headed by a Lady Chef https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clare_Smyth who once cooked for Gordon Ramsey and then was head chef of one of his restaurants.

She also catered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding.

Looking at the menu, too expensive and nothing I want to eat. The Chef's table experience requires a £2000 non-refundable deposit.. GET OUT!!!!

The Lady Chef also holds a MBE. I didn't know what MBE is so I Google it.

Appetizer: Thai lotus tuile, filled with coconut jelly, fried king prawns, and a pomelo fruit salad flavoured with honey, palm sugar and shredded coconut.



Main: A traditional northern Thai kantok, Wagyu sirloin steak in a hung lay curry sauce, minced lamb in a spicy tomato, chili and shrimp paste, jackfruit and scallop salad, sticky rice and scallop crisp crackers.



Dessert: Strawberry jelly and vanilla cremeux ring, filled with macerated strawberries in strawberry liqueur, pistachio sponge, strawberry shards, and a strawberry and Thai basil sauce.

Appetizer: Golgappa, crisp hollow pastry shells served with three fillings - spicy potato and black chickpea, sweet and tangy potato with pomegranate, and diced strawberries soaked in orange juice. Served with mint and black sea water, tamarind and jaggery sauce, and orange and Cava.



Main: Slow-cooked lamb rogan josh, with black lentil daal, roasted cauliflower in a spicy tomato and chilli sauce, sweet saffron rice wtih dry fruits and nuts, cucumber and mint raita, mango pickle, baby onions, garlic naan, and served with a spicy lime and sugar syrup.



Dessert: Haiwa, a yellow lentil sponge pudding, flavoured with saffrond, sultanas and pistachio, served with a cardamon and almond ice cream.



Omar:

Appetizer: Drunken scallops, pan-fried scallops covered in a steamed potato and carrot blanket, carrot and mango salad, shoestring fries, fish roe, pickled edamame beans, and a spicy rice wine fish broth.



Main: Beef cheek in a black bean and cherry sauce, topped with crushed roasted hazelnuts and a tempura oyster, served with Jerusalem artichoke puree, cherries, pickled cucumbers, beef-roasted cabbage, and a black bean cherry sauce.



Dessert: A parsnip split, cumin-roasted parsnips, parsnip and cumin semifreddo, topped with a feuilletine chocolate crisp, cumin butterscotch, and milk chocolate cremeux.
