Need some help on this one. Cant figure this out.
Im rebuilding my old x52 throttle and all works great except one thing.
The x52 has a mouse wheel like scroll on it. Looking at it I assumed its just an encoder wheel on a circuit board with the ability to also push down button.I have the push down button working fine.
For the scroll function I cut all the circuit board traces, cut original wires and used the 3 solder points the encoder wheel connect to the board with.
Now the issue.
The wheel has a notch feel to it each time you turn it which is normal but if I turn it one notch mmjoy doesnt show any button presses and all other buttons act normal. Scroll one more notch and now the 2 encoder buttons show pressed as if Im holding the button down but also any other buttons connected in that same matrix line show as 2 button presses until I turn the wheel one more notch then back to normal.
The wheel encoder only has 3 solder points so I assumed 1 is for the diode ROW and the other 2 are for the Column buttons in the matrix, but as mentioned above I get those results.
Any ideas on how to remedy this?
This is my project.
This was the silver colored x52. Only buttons I kept original were the 8 way finger hat and mouse wheel.
Added a new slide pot,Rotary encoder on top,
CH Products hat, thumb joystick, a few extra buttons, 2 more axis pots and couple toggles.
This was just extra parts I had lying around from other projects.
Repainted properly, redid the rubber coating for the palm rest.
