Thankful that my son was not hurt last night. He & his friend were in a Walgreens in Tucson, AZ, when two armed robbers entered the store. One robber pulled a knife and asked the clerk to give him all his cash from the register. The other robber also pulled out a knife and came toward by son demanding he give all his money and any other items he had to him. Well my son did have one item he wasn't going to surrender to them - he pulled out his Glock 17 and told both of the armed robbers to get on the ground. They immediately did and the police arrived moments later to arrest a 19 year old and a 21 year old. My son was "thankful" that he didn't have to kill them and the police told him in Arizona he would have been perfectly within his right to do so under the circumstances. When one of the police officers saw my sons Texas DL he said, "no wonder you had a gun - you're from Texas!"

Glad to hear he wasn't hurt, Haggart. AND glad to hear that he wasn't forced to fire his weapon. "Perfectly within his rights" doesn't make having to live with taking someone's life any easier. A lot to be thankful for, all things considered.

Very glad he handled that like a responsible man! and we join you in thanks that nobody got hurt or had to die. i know people who've had to kill and it is a heavy burden, as vonBaur said.

Wow, what an incredible story! Glad all ended well. Is this your son who speaks Russian?

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph

God bless your son for being there to diffuse what could have been a terrible scene.

Yep. Very glad it turned out well for your son.

Good job, your son.

We need more citizens like him who are not afraid to stand up to these criminals!

Well done, raising a son like that. Hag. Good to see.

Very glad the situation turned out the way it did. I've had to point a gun at another human one time and that was enough.

thanks guys appreciate the kind words - I wouldn't be surprised if those two knuckleheads get out and try their luck at robbing a beer tavern

Your son would have most likely been arrested in several different European countries including the UK. I'm glad to see he's ok.

I love happy endings!

Gald your son is ok, that he didn't have to actually pull the trigger, and that he is a concealed carry Guy.
