So there are 2 WotW series currently airing right now? The first one I didn't like. Which one do you mean? Fox or BBC? Been reading the reviews of the BBC 3 part series which was broadcast in Canada a few weeks ago and it has been getting a bit of a thumbs down

I've just started the Fox version of WoTW. 1 episode in and it looks good.
I'll probably skip the BBC version,it sounds dreadful.

We get the last two episodes of the Fox series this week, and I'm wondering if they can clear up all the mysteries in it in two episodes and bring it to a conclusion or are we going to get another season or two from it. I'm going to watch the BBC episode tonight seeing as I recorded it anyway.

Even though I'm pretty anti-BBC I would have given it a chance (maybe I still will) but I saw the words 'socially relevant' used to describe it.
I'd be interested in your thoughts on it Alicatt,if you wouldn't mind.

Just finished the Fox/Canal WoTW and it was quite good.Marks removed for no tripods. It defintely left it open for another series. I got a bit annoyed with 2 of the characters near the end Blind Girl and Incest Boy but that's just me. It didn't ruin the show.

Also, I admit that I've never liked Léa Drucker, so I'm maybe a bit biased.

Well guys,I decided to watch the BBC WoTW episode 1 last night. I didn't find it too bad if I'm honest. Certainly there was nothing there that would stop me wanting to see episode 2. I think I'll continue cautiously.
At least it has tripods!

I agree with you Chucky, a slow burner of a first episode but a solid attempt to set the atmosphere and context necessary in a period drama and building the tension. I think it captured the essence of Wells' story although not of course following the book faithfully. Interesting that they gave the story some verity including world events at the time such as the Russian Fleet debacle, not in the original writing, published some years earlier than the event. Intriguing that the female protagonists in the book were rewritten as Wells' real-life wife and mistress, something i did not realise until reading some reviews of the programme.
Noting the 'confirmed batchelor' scientist character, I'm waiting for the seemingly mandatory BBC Gay and Diversity bolt-on subplot that has no relation to the main theme, as seen in recent productions such as 'World on Fire'.

I just saw this last night and liked it a lot. Watch it, it's pretty good. I also saw, "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood." It really captures the world of Hollywood film making well, I thought. Another Tarantino alternate history film. DeCaprio and Pitt are terrific.

I recently watched Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I love Tarantino movies.
I must admit I found this one a little slow,but those last 10 minutes...wow!
I think I need to re-watch it,either that or wait for the 4 hour cut.
