Curious as to what my fellow WOFF’ers are up to in the war torn French skies.

Currently FA-13 in February '17, flying a DFW. Doing recon duty until I get promoted. It's a very, very, very slow career haha

I got fired as the door man at a sperm bank.
Apparently it's in poor taste to tell leaving customers "Thanks for coming."

Only have time for one right now – the deep immersion campaign career, in which my fellow is a flight commander in 19 Squadron in November 1916. I've never been fond of flying Spads, so I thought this campaign would give me the opportunity to get used to the things.

Cheers,

Raine

I’m currently having my usual plane angst for “just one career at a time” so that I may focus.
56 Squadron with Se5’s (favorite plane) or 1 Squadron with the N17 (a close second). Got them both rolled up - just pending the Delete button on one. Or I can flip back and forth upon a...untimely demise.
Having too many favorites is an awful burden! wink

Like Raine and Carrick, I am only flying the DiD Campaign at the moment. My current pilot is the station commander at Stow Maries for 37 Squadron, flying Home Defence with the B.E.12 in November of 1916.

Currently flying a Roland during the Battle of the Somme.

How did I end up here? I pick the next airforce, advance the season and leave the rest to chance for each career when I die. (So if I die in winter 1916, I select the next airforce in line, select for spring 1916 and let the chips fall where they may from there) It means I end up in some interesting scenarios that I wouldn't usually choose for myself. The Roland has been fun since I can fly it like a fighter after my duties are completed, (Unless I have plates and a camera that need to be returned to base). However, the incredibly slow firing gun and not being able to see through the top wing really limit my effectiveness. Fortunately I can just open up the throttle and be somewhere else if things get hairy, it's quite easy to get away from scouts at this stage provided you see them coming.

Let's pretend I got the BWOC badge to embed here.

RNAS 9, during Bloody April. I like a challenge. Although I do think that sticking me in a N11 is a bit much. I can deal with the structural weakness. And I can even navigate without a compass thanx to Lou's maps. But no gunsight and only 194 rounds is a real pain. I've probably lost two kills because I ran out of ammo.

SALUTE TO ALL!

I love flying the Roland, it's a chunk and can't be thrown about but it's fast by 1916 standards.

I'm the scourge of any DH2 in the vicinity.

With the added bonus of bombing missions as well.

So, we take off in ten minutes, we're in the air for twenty minutes, which means we should be dead by twenty five to ten.

Glad you like it. I made it from Gotthard Sachenburg's MFJ I skin. I will put it in a future skin pack if I can ever get the Mod creation thing down. Long learning curve but I'll get there.
