Now I want to build one. Thanks for sharing the link.

I got fired as the door man at a sperm bank.
Apparently it's in poor taste to tell leaving customers "Thanks for coming."

I’ve always loved that website but have not been there for a while.
One of my “millionaire fantasies” is to spend several weeks there sometime.
Now I just need the millions...

And the last pics are great. Love how they try to build them the “old way” as much as possible.

and I see Gene DeMarco is up to his old tricks. https://thevintageaviator.co.nz/
He pulled the same kind of stunt at Old Rhinebeck.

We will remember them.

You mean …. people love other kites! eek Must be a tiny minority. wacky Yes, she was born of a factory renowned for duds but what a thoroughbred she turned out to be. I do keep bangin' my noggin on the Lewis butt when alighting but if a girl didn't have some vices what fun would she be. wink

Wow Shred that reads like a Fake news/April Fool that article on DeMarco, I'm very surprised to hear about that.
He looks obviously a bit shocked in the dock.

Thanks for the update. Read a tidbit over a year ago(?) and had hoped it was a misunderstanding.
Apparently not and quite a shame all around. Mainly for the “cause.”

He was found guilty earlier this fall -

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/cr...nager-found-guilty-of-2m-fraud-and-theft

Very talented guy with vintage airplanes, but a real shame about what he did regarding finances and sales.

On the subject of the SE5 - another reproduction is examined on video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wukElNyPq2Y

They're absolutely fascinating. In many ways, they were ahead of their time in terms of pilot position, center of gravity, and emphasis on a powerful engine providing vertical fighting capabilities. They've got a steerable skid, and cockpit ergonomic elements that would still be used going into the 1930s-40s. I've heard someone say they foreshadow the designs of the 1920s-30s era biplane fighters, and in many ways, this is true. Great plane.

The Vintage Aviator is a real asset to the historic aviation community - wonderful reproductions, right down to gauges and small details.
