This is a short video of my late friend Douglas Bartlett ex RN who served in every single theatre of operations where the RN was deployed in WW2. Atlantic and Murmansk convoys, D-Day, The Med amd finally the Pacific. He sang Let There Be Peace on Earth at every Armistice service for many years. When he was 96 a local opera singer volunteered to "back him up" because his voice was not quite as strong as it was. He was a true gentleman. Kind, firm, proud but humble. It was privilege to have known him.
