quickbooks error question

i am using QuickBooks desktop pro 2016 and have recently gotten an error message when I exit. support is useless, insisting there is no other solution but get the latest version for $299.95. BestBuy has it for $199.95. Any ideas?

that seems to be the problem, I was hoping to use it longer, but am headed to BestBuy since they are charging $199 . I did find some fixes, but they are too complicated for me and I have no way of checking their credentials

My elderly mother, who is/was professional an accountant. Still uses here 2004 quick books on her old XP computer to do her personal finances. That computer is not on the net. She uses Win10 and ATAX for her clients. If you do not want to play the update game, you do not need too. You simply have to find a pre IP RENTAL timeline that you are happy with.  I did not lie.

I went online to BestBuy this morning and ordered desktop pro 2020. Waiting now for it to be ready for pickup, about a mile from my house. Customers have posted that their updates went well, hoping I can say the same. Disappointed they did not ever answer my error question, buy hey, I'm expired...
