Is it compatible with PE or still testing?

Yes it is compatible and will not harm your WOFF installation for either PE or UE.

There are however some corrections to airfield installation files so keep an eye on the " Wings: Over Flanders Fields - Mods" page for the changes.

Best Regards

Should the Consolidated Custom Facilities have to be enabled first?
Because I enabled the Populated Airfields Mod and not only I did't see any changes but lost the stationary planes too!

Yeah Populated airfields conflicts with the facilities mod, in UE I had to load it afterwards or the mission editor couldn't detect it. If we're lucky it might also get the PE treatment.

Yes, as Ace_Pilto said, the Realistically Populated Airfiled mod has to be enabled as the latest mod of the arfield serie - ref. to attached Readme file. However, this mod may not be fully compatible with PE, because I do not have a chance to compare/tune it yet (still WOFF UE happy flyer).

Realistically populated airfield MOD is not compatible with PE because it replaces
the period global csv files with older UE versions so you'll be missing airfields if you enable it.

OrbyxP;

I appreciate that you take the time to test and highlight flaws in the mods. You are providing a helpful service to the modders and the community. It would even be more helpful if you could be more specific and share your knowledge about what specific parts of the mod need attention and why.

I would like to also add that most modders are sensitive about their products so it would be a great idea to step lightly and recognize that you want modders to see you comments as intending to be helpful and not critical.

Keep up the good work and I hope you can reflect on my suggestion because we need your services.

Best Regards

Sensitive? Wait we're talking about a game, right?

You can't tell that I said it will overwrite the period global csv files? Then I'm not sure how else to be more clear than that.

EDIT: I'll try to just stick with updating my compatibility list whenever I get a chance to test MODs out. For now, I'll let the MOD author's find the problems so I don't step on toes.

orby, for a fair number of folks this sim is far more a passion than it is a game. Some of the longtime modders have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours over the years on their work and, much like the devs, can get a tad touchy about their "labors of love". I believe this is what Robert was getting at with his "sensitive" remark. That being said, I think both modders and devs alike want to know when there are issues with their work as we all want things to function properly and play nice with all the other bits and pieces.

I should add, those period global layer files are the biggest sticking point when it comes to many of the mods as a large portion of them have to make changes to those files. And as you've noted orby, when that happens the previous period global layer files are overwritten. Ideally, one mega mod is the way to go so that the overwrite issue is eliminated, or at least minimized, and this is the goal of Robert's consolidated mod package efforts.

Well, I did enable the PE revised facilities mod properly for 1917 (for my Jasta 29 Campaign)
after that enabled the populated airfields mod to test (I know it's still UE compatible only) and I did saw the little men around.
In our first base (it was an OBD generic) there were mechanincs arount planes that were absent!
Then we got a tranfer to Phalempin and I saw a custom airfield for the first time.!
I liked the different arrangement from the one I was used to but,
IMHO it did not blend in flawlessly with the PE crisp textures...
and this time the mechanics were around Fokker D.IIs (in 1917?)
The next day the stationary planes were Fokker D.VIIs (in 1917?)

Elephant;

When you state "the PE revised facilities mod" would you make it clear for me that you are speaking of the "WOFF PE 1 - 1917+ Custom Facilities - Full Trees Populated by Panama Red" which is part of the Consolidated Custom Airfields Mod, or some other mod. Please state the full name of the mod as it helps to understand what you are using. Same goes for the term you used "populated airfields mod".

I am confused when you stated Fokker DII's one day and Fokker DVII's the next day in the 1917 period. Were these on the same airfield? That seems impossible because in any given airfield the mod does not change up aircraft during the year (1917) period. If you note such changes that is because those are the aircraft being dynamically changed by WOFF and not due to the modder's effort.

Looking forward to your clarification.

Best Regards

OrbyxP;

Yes you did clearly identify the period global csv files in that communication and I wasn't being specific to that particular post.
Please don't take my comments as a put down. As I stated clearly, your contributions are valuable so please continue to do what you do. I was just suggesting that the modders appreciate constructive criticism.

Best Regards

Just an important note - The Realistically populated airfields mod works ONLY with Mission editor, that is responsible for filling airfields with correct planes at given date and place. Without mission editor there remain planes at airfields as "leftover" from previous mission.

I've attached a screenshot of my enabled mods, but I guess JJJ65 already answered about the random appearance of stationary planes.
Thank you both for your efforts and prompt answer!
