That's the most impressive scenery I've seen I reckon. I fear for my current set up trying to run that.

That DA-62 is an impressive airplane. I saw one up close at Sun and Fun this year. Beautiful. And powered by two diesel engines. You just press a button, and they start. Of course, it costs 1.3 million dollars. I have one for X-Plane 11. One of my favorites. Looks as though Microsoft is taking advantage of that new scenery and are hoping that people will want to do more VFR flying with this sim. I always preferred it, anyway. I'm sure plenty of third party jets will start showing up, though. I think that building airplanes is the only way that anyone is going to make money with this one. It certainly isn't going to need any help in the terrain or weather department!

As much as I was excited about this... there is not one of those aircraft I want to fly... First of all I'm impressed, actually astonished with this upcoming Flight Simulator! However if I had to point out a quite negative point about it, that would definitely be the list of aircraft. So, I agree with Trooper117, there's not one aircraft on that list that I would really, really, really want to fly. The only aircraft from that list that I remotely want to try is the Cessna Caravan - and IMO, this by itself "tells a lot" IMO - with the Airbus A320 taking a very remote second place (compared to the Caravan). Regarding all the others, I have absolutely NO interest at all.

Let's not be too short sighted here. More aircraft will come in time, whether it's from 3rd parties or MS.
Many would probably argue not focusing on aircraft is actually the right strategy. That has always been where 3rd parties contribute the most, and where the customer expectations and desires are the most varied. So MS focuses on a next gen flight sim engine with a few aircraft they can do well, and let the 3rd parties provide the bottomless aircraft add-ons.

I don't believe that anyone here is being "short sighted". Obviously that it won't be the list of airplanes that will "drive me out" of this sim, that's for sure even because like you said, 3rd party devs will surely come up with the best airplane content (better than stock) as it always happened with the Flight Simulator series. However what I'm saying (and others as well, I believe) is that I would prefer to see another list of aircraft. For instance, the list of aircraft in Flight Simulator X was far, far more interesting than the list of FS 2020, IMO that is.

But even around FSX in 2006 I remember wishing for a "flightsim that streamed the scenery like Google Earth"...
I severely hope I'm not wrong, but I think they're going to hit it out of the ballpark with this one My sentiments exactly!! I've been out of the MSFS loop for quite a while. Just today, I saw an extended "pre-alpha" MSFS video -- I had no clue. I came here to read what others are saying. It's what I've been waiting for!

And if it's streaming and you have to pay a subscription? That would turn me off. And, it easily could happen. Not at all unlikely. Microsoft is in this to make money. More and more game developers are finding ways to get "rent" out of us gamers. I resist rent. However, being an upbeat type, I'll wait until they drop that shoe officially before I say "aw shucks" (or something similar ).

And if it's streaming and you have to pay a subscription? I hope not. IMO, there's no reason for them (Microsoft) to do this, even from the money point-of-view since and afterall there's also Google Earth/Maps which doesn't have any subscription.

And if it's streaming and you have to pay a subscription? No one complained when paying the monthly WOW subscription.
