How about you demonstrate some tactics in IL-2 and put the track files up here for downloading, perhaps with accompanying notes? A sort of "How it's done" series. That's what I find so cool about this sim. It seems perfect for analyzing ACM. Now we can learn from the master. [Linked Image]

Cheers!

"I want to learn to fly like that, " Jonathan said, and a strange light glowed in his eyes. "Tell me what to do."
Chiang spoke slowly and watched the younger gull ever so carefully. "To fly as fast as thought, to anywhere that is," he said, "you must begin by knowing that you have already arrived . . . . "

I'd like to second that. The stock training that comes with Il2 is excellent for the basics of the prop. flying and air-combat. Now we need some ACM, gunnery, squad tactics, bombing, etc...

How to make the opposing and friendly AI to "cooperate" in the demonstrations I don't know, though. We really need that multi-player track recorder.

I'd like to put my vote in for this to.

I'd also like to see more SimHQ staff do some track files. [Linked Image]

Hi guys!

Let me look into this...but it may not be too soon. I'm upgrading to a new airplane and am pretty busy with the academics right now. Once we get into the new year, things should settle down enough for me to take a look at what you are suggesting.

In the meantime, don't forget my articles at the Air Combat corner. I've already discussed at length everything you mention.

Andy

I haven't forgotten, guys. Right now, I'm doing an article for SimHQ on how to use the rudder, flaps, and trim. You should find it useful for IL-2.
