I will watch the final knowing my father who took me to see the first 3 before passing away in 1993. And my Son who lives for it. He is 24 now.
He will watch it through me. And the same will go on with my son.

Have to agree some somewhat, about Full retard on the last. But will endure for Dad.

I'll be watching it. I think one major complaint from many older fans is that they are not getting the same raw visceral feelings with these new SW movies compared to the original trilogy. Well, you can't control getting older and you also cant control the fact that when the original trilogy of films came out they were very unique. How many Star Wars clones/inspired films have we had now over the past 35+ years? A lot.

The last one with those characters. It will most definitely NOT be the last Star Wars movie from Disney.

I'm sure I'll see it after it's out for home viewing... I'm just so facepalm after the last two films that the series has completely dropped off my radar.

That's not what I was angry about, Panzer. The second movie had awful writing and plotting.

Some gripes:

1) Sneed was wasted and stupid. Dead in seconds? A single name badass... turns out to be a cotton candy retard?

2) Lasers that arced like medieval arrows in space? Please.

3) The rebels ran out of gas...

4) Princess Leia and the space bubble what?

5) Luke went from savior of the Galaxy to a bitter washed up recluse that dies, wasting his potential?

6) Finn who?

7) Laura Dern the feminazi

8) A massive wheeled death laser that has to be hauled into range to do damage...

9) Poe the cuck

10) THEY RAN OUT OF GAS

I could go on. There was nothing redeemable about the script. The producers should have thrown it in the trash and started over with an entirely new plotline and character progression. There is no point in continuing what they wrote.

I agree with Mr_Blastman, it was the script and so much more that made it bad. I really liked Rogue One, so it's not a matter of getting older or whatever, it's whether it's a well made movie or not.

That said, I'll probably see it just because it's the last in that series. I didn't feel the need to see Solo, and I didn't buy the disc for Last Jedi, the only one I didn't buy, but I'll still go see this just to cap that story arc off.

Heck, I'll be seeing it simply to see Palpatine again! I want to see just how much of a role he has to play in this final chapter.

I've seen it several times where young kids watched the vintage Star Wars movies and they liked them more than the recent fare.

Yeah, I'm curious about that too. I believe the original plan was to have Anakin conceived by the midichlorians, from being manipulated by Palpatine, so I wonder if that will factor in.

Luke going from savior of the galaxy to bitter washed up recluse could have worked. It probably wouldn't be popular, but you could make a great, if tragic, character study out of it. Now reintroducing a character you haven't seen in 30 years, have him be the opposite for no real reason, and then die pointlessly was a poor way to go about it.

Out of all the Star Wars films that have been made since the originals, the only one I have thoroughly enjoyed has been 'Rogue One' ...

Hey, it's DISNEY! Hollywood on Steroids, no propaganda comes near when it comes to new lows!

Disney completely lost me when "Star destroyers" operated in the atmosphere of planets under full G, i really expected to see Mickey Mouse as the new Jedi.

Grrrrrrr ok yes i will watch it. IF ONLY TO RANT ABOUT IT! biggrin

I'm wondering if the whole movie is going to be like the trailer...1080p @30fps...lol

Seriously, 10 year olds with YT channels output better quality than that.

I don't see the issue with the star destroyers being in the atmospheres of planets under full G, considering all of the other stuff they do. Things like spaceships going through space like jet fighters in an atmosphere, the Millennium Falcon taking off and flying through an atmosphere with absolutely no aerodynamics whatsoever, and Bespin floating in an atmosphere.

Also, Lucas had star destroyers flying in the atmosphere long before he sold it to Disney. Pretty much all of the prequels had that.
