https://www.washingtonpost.com/grap...f-duty-modern-warfare-behind-the-scenes/I hope it's not like other games where I've read articles on how "authentic" and "realistic" it is going to be and you end up playing the game and it is just a fast twitch rail shooter!
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

I'm not one to speak with any authority on CoD games, unless my experience with the first two 15 years ago counts for anything. I enjoyed those games, and they were innovative in their own way. Who doesn't remember the battle like Brecourt Manor as their first taste of the series? Or in the second one I think it was when you were riding shotgun in a jeep, taking potshots with your Thompson at every coal-scuttled, hobnailed German soldier who popped up along the way? That sort of sequence exploded in it's wake, but CoD was the first.
But then we get to the third installment. This is where I stopped playing. I recall a certain segment, I was fighting my way though the waves of soliders. I got behind a box and thought I would wait until I got them all, but the waves never ended. I soon discovered that as long as I stayed behind this box they didn't stop, but if I got behind that box 4 feet in front of me they did, as that was the where the trigger was. That was it. I stopped playing and never played again. My son does though and loves these games.
The article linked in the OP wouldn't load for me so I don't know what it's about. But I think when they talk about authenticity and realism it's more about the atmosphere than the combat mechanics. This formula has been a runaway success for years and why would they change it up now?
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

If you're expecting SWAT 4 or the older Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games move along.
Exactly. It's all about having the right expectations. Expecting a COD title to have the level of realism you see in ArmA 3 or Swat 4 is like going to see a Larry the Cable Guy movie and expecting to get an Oscar worthy performance.

Panzer, FAR LESS than Larry the Cable Guy is an "Oscar worthy performance" these days!!

authentic means to emulate reality, not simulate, take this as exemple, we never had, and never will get a gunship as realistic as this fps,it looks just like the leaked videos you see online or those from DOD [video:youtube] https://youtu.be/AANCcyhtUnc?t=2212[/video] https://youtu.be/AANCcyhtUnc?t=2212
