I never had crashing issues in UE but PE has now crashed of me three times. The cfs3 just shuts down and the WOFF reacts like I had stopped the mission mid flight. It happens randomly during simulation without warning and there is no error message. Here's the woff.log file contents from the last mission. Not sure if it includes the cfs3 related stuff. Please let me know if you can interpret something from this or if there's a more helpful log file somewhere.

@mvp7 - woff.log does not log anything from cfs3 (3D) environment. You must provide us with another logs - off.log, mission.log, EnhancedShaders.log and ParamsLog.txt.

Try both .exes in W7 Compatibility Mode.

I had this problem a long time ago and it turned out to be WOFF "crashing" every time a particular external program wanted to update itself.

Once I disabled the auto-update on this program, the problem went away.

Thanks guys. I think I'll set my exes to compatibility mode and see if that has an effect. Do you remember what program was causing the crashing in your case Panama Red?

It was a anti-virus program (SuperAntiSpyware), great program, but every time it updated, WOFF would crash to a straight black screen without any error messages.

It was only after I figured out the timing of the antispyware update and WOFF crashing did I disable the auto-update and everything was fine after that, but it took weeks to figure it out.

good timing on this topic: about two weeks ago, a little before PE came out, this started happening to me too. It happens with and without any mods, before and after PE installed. Oddly, it would only be on the first attempt of the day; subsequently, WOFF would load and run fine. I've also done two clean reinstalls, but same results. I've attached log files. I've noticed that the OffLog ends with "...calling WOFF dll..." but I couldn't tell you why it goes no further. Ideas anyone?

These are for OBD Support use only. They contain details of your system and will contain details including your order number.

Please try the fix posted, it's also in the FAQ>

Random crashes in flight are usually down to CPU/Memory problem. PE will likely use more memory on some systems due to upgraded aircraft cockpits.

Thanks Pol, didn't realize the order number was included in OffLog.

Unless JJJ spots something weird in the mission I suspect 32bit process RAM limit might have been the reason for the crashes as you say. I am running pretty high setting and at least for the last two crashes I was using the blue triangle fix mod. Now I have been monitoring the RAM use of cfs3 while playing. Is the crashing limit for cfs3.exe 3.5 GB or less?

I monitored the RAM usage of the cfs3.exe and it would go as high as 3.3 GB with my high settings in fairly quiet part of the front. It's very possible that the RAM had hit the limit in my earlier crashes.

I reduced the Airfield compexity and Woods density to medium which seemed to have significant impact with the RAM use rarely going over 2.7 GB.
