Precisely as was planned, and as has been the course for well over 20 years now. And not just games.

And every time some smarta$$ decides to give others a hard time about not wanting to upgrade, they are just a. Being a big part of the problem, and b. Showing how very little they actually know about anything to do with the subject.

The fact is, we are here because of all the people who, for years, have insisted on accepting change for the sake of change as somehow "better", and telling others "You need to just get with the times and stop whining". Idiots who played right into Microsoft's hand.

High over the Front
Yessir.
Like to have stayed (forever!) with W7 but MS cleverly stops doing Security Updates (or any probably needed minor updates in the future) to, essentially, force you to switch. Hell, me and XP got along just fine to but that was another (indirect) forced switch though. granted, I'm sure its a bit long in tooth now. In fact didn't I have to leave XP years ago for a WOFF Upgrade?? smile Some progress is needed just not with MS's hand on the steering wheel.
Actually I am always kind of amazed that MS gets away with what they do.

This is why I changed to W 8.1 a while back. It's supported for another 3+ years, and also has other features I found useful (chief among them, native UASP support for USB...faster external device transfers, which matters if you're moving 50 or 70G at a time...)

Yes, the metro tile interface is horrible, but fairly easy to bypass.
