Hi guys,

Im new here and also new to sim flying. About 2 months ago I bought a Wharthog HOTAS along with chair mounts to enjoy games such as Elite Dangerous and IL2. About a week after I realised I had a stiction problem with the stick. Looking online I found a handy video but after I sourced the grease etc I managed to cut thru the wires which run past the magnet when putting it back together. I did have it all the right way round but 2 of the 4/5 wires buckled and were cut. Thrustmaster wont help me other than sell me a complete new base so im just wondering if anyone here knows of some way I could fix these wires frown Im heartbroken, only used it for a little before I noticed the stiction. If no one here has any ideas im going to buy a new base, I don't want to mind as its a lot of money but I know itll be a upgrade so every cloud has a silver lining.
Is this base a good choice to use with my wharthog stick?

As stated if anyone has a idea or know where I could get those wires from id be over the moon but otherwise I have to use all the money I have to buy a new base. Thanks guys

The Mongoose base is way better than the Warthog and as you're probably aware you can mount the WH stick directly on it and allow any angle you want when tightening up.

It sounds like you may have done exactly the same as I did a few years ago. Basically if you cant extend/solder the wires you're probably out of luck but it may be worth a try otherwise you've got a paperweight.

I bought the Mongoose base a while ago and gave my base away (which I'd managed to fix) to someone on this forum a out 6 months ago. Once Id used the Mongoose I knew I wouldn't be going back.
