The Sqn Escorted 2 C-4's today. It was a bit of a cock-up as they were 3-4000 ft higher then us at the meeting point. By the time we caught up we were strung out all over the sky behind them, and over the target, Thank goodness no e/a in the area.

A bit of advice to everyone. WOFF PE turns the wingmen off by default. You have to switch them on again in Workshops. I've lost Eggy.

MFair: sorry about Drogo. Have a good break, both of you wink

Fullofit, congrats to Toby on reaching the 25 mark, well done. But the Chesty and Eggy act is done so soon? Eggy we hardly knew ye.

MFair, close call for Drogo with that SPAD but at least he survived it. Hope his stay in hospital will be pleasant, as well as your time off.

Carrick, things are still rough for Keith and 29 Squadron from the looks of it. Loosing half your flight in a single sortie is a gut punch. Good to see that his latest outing was not so deadly.

kksnowbear and HarryH, the stutter issue has been a divisive one. Trump blames it on the Democrats while they in turn say it's Trump's fault for meddling with the initial beta testing. It's up to us average folks to simply deal with the issue as it stands and get on with things.

Lou,

Indeed. FWIW, I am pretty sure all of those people (politicians) are total idiots anyhow biggrin biggrin biggrin Now, enough about that before I get slammed for posting about "the P word".

On the "S word", Harry and I agree the stutters are still present, as is cloud popping (which I was hopeful was gone). However, I also agree with both you and Harry, in that average folks just have to decide if it's "for them". Even if no one believes it, I think this is a remarkable sim and has been elevated significantly by OBD efforts. I do not hate the sim or have some vendetta against OBD.

Speaking for myself, I just prefer to have complete and accurate info/detail about what I'm considering - and whether that means stutters, or rust on a Chevy Vega, I respect that everyone has every right to discuss openly and decide for themselves.

All the best to you smile

Once again we find ourselves in agreement. The most complete and accurate information is a must if folks are going to make a sound decision for themselves. All of which seems totally lacking in certain Districts of Columbia these days.

All the best to you as well, kk. smile2

BTW I'll hush up now, you fellas enjoy your flights. I do actually read these posts from time to time. Not my thing personally, but it's still good that others can enjoy it at such a deep level. And I've seen your office, so I think you're about as off the deep end as deep into it as they get smile

Thanks Lou! BTW, Eggy is still around he’s just not Toby’s wingman anymore after this new “wingman off” setting fiasco. Worry not. Mulberry has a plan. If he’s lucky the new wingman could have an itty bitty accident and then they will have to assign Eggy back to Toby.

Fullofit, you snuck in while I was posting my last, incredibly pithy remark. Glad Eggy is still in the picture, I can rest easy now, or at least as easy as one in my condition can hope to rest.

EDIT: kk, to your added remark about my office, - that is my sanctuary from all the madness, my Fortress of Solitude, if you will. Though I have wondered on occasion why the door on it locks from the outside.

Lou, I stay away from the P-word, but the S-word is still on my mind.

My Strutter developed a stutter
By Tobias C Mulberry

When the rain begins to patter
And everyone else is still asleep
The water runs down the gutter
And the willows begin to weep
This is when I get into my Strutter
Rev up the engine and begin to roll
I fly a sortie that doesn’t matter
A mission that’s not important at all
I see dark shapes that weave and flutter
On their wings black crosses they carry
Eindeckers are our bread and butter
And I will add some to my tally
Alas, the engine develops a stutter
And I slink away to the south
I curse the Gods and I mutter
Bad taste left in my mouth
I land and hear the engine sputter
Disgusted I head for the closest tent
Ack-Emma stands there with a wire cutter
He bares witness to this dramatic event
He asks me: What’s the matter?
I tell him the long version of the story
He doesn’t believe me and calls me a nutter
I tell him to jump in front of a moving lorry
This mechanic is an idiot, complete and utter
I will smear the engine with more grease
And fly my faulty Strutter
Until the motor begins to cease

Luxeuil, 1916

"Take the cylinder out of my kidneys,
The connecting rod out of my brain, my brain,
From out of my arse take the camshaft,
And assemble the engine again."

Fullofit, you can't see it, but I've shaved my beard into a goatee, donned a beret, dimmed the lights in my office, and am snapping my fingers. That's hip, man. Too too coo-coo.

Ohhh, and I was striving for this “To be, or not to be” vibe. Oh well.
