Ordered to take a small Cross Roads in Belgium. 3rd Companie, 25th Panzergraendier + 1 Stug III and a SP 250/9 attacked with the armor and 3 Platoons leading on line . Moving House to house we assaulted a Platoon of Infantry ( 28th Inf } and occupied the houses controlling the Cross Roads. Shorty after , a Counter attack was made by 5 Sherman tanks 2 from the south and three from the west. The Stug was ht by 75 mm shells and exploded after taking out 1 tank, Our Panzer faust and Panzerchecks teams took out 2 more as the 250/9 skirted around firing ( then became a wreck as a 75 mm hit it ) The Mortars on call disabled the other 2 .Later we heard that the tanks was from the 3rd armor div.

Dispatched an Armored probe ahead of my 4 companies of Grenadiers albeit, Undermanned. The force of 3 Flack Panzer's , 2 PZ IV , and 2 Panthers Followed up by 1 Platoon Infantry A fight started in an opening in the forest . The 116th Panzer reported losing 1 38t Flack PZ + a PZ IV disabled. 4 KIA , 2 Missing +8 wnd. The enemy appeared to be an Armored Infantry Platoon as a blocking force. Losses: 37 KIA, 2 30 cal MG's, 4-5 AFV's, + 1 Flack type with 4 Heavy MG,s. The rest disappeared into the Tree line.
