When we were kids, we'd tremble when our father's screamed, "I'm going to tear you a new arsehole!" Well, now scientists are going to tear space a new arsehole. Careful where you step, because there's no telling what will happen when the world's super laser punctures the inflating balloon: https://arstechnica.com/science/201...er-pulse-through-fabric-of-the-universe/Best make plans now with your wife, kids, friends and enemies. When the house of cards unravels you might find yourself spinning through space like the bad guys in 1980's Superman II, banging on the walls of their mirror prison.

all matter is shredded, leaving only electrons and nuclei.
Isn’t that all that matter is in the first place?

Isn’t that all that matter is in the first place? Nah. All matter is bosons and fermions and the quarks that comprise them. But what are quarks? That's what string theory is for... Here's a good page to read: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/part-nf.html

this could open the door to an alien invasion or cause them to advance their plans to do so They turned their covetous eyes towards us, and slowly but surely they drew their plans. The chances of anything coming from Mars were a million to one against, but still they come...

I'm not getting my hopes up for another apocalypse. A certain US politician already shared her expert knowledge and informed us that the world will be ending in 12 years so you're good to go!

And supposedly the odds were 50-50 that the first A-Bomb test at Alamogordo would ignite the atmosphere. And that was among the scientists who built it.

this could open the door to an alien invasion or cause them to advance their plans to do so No fore this Universe is sphere shaped and the very next dimension is in fact the Safety Dimension which is sphere shaped like this Universe but just empty space and vacuum. That is where the ship must have wound up that disappeared in Norfolk Naval Shipyard in the 1940's.

It will not achieve any tearing in the fabric of space by using a laser regardless of what type they use. The dangers of tearing a hole in the fabric of space is that it could cause a complete loss of planet Earth due to Explosive Super Decompression due to the pressure difference between Earths atmosphere and the vacuum of the Safety Dimension. A worse possible case scenario is complete destruction of the Universe from a tear in the fabric of space.

So cool. We're coming close to understanding God. Wonder how close He'll let us go? You could wind up with an intervention from Heaven in the event of a catastrophe involving total loss of the planet, this has happened before and that is why 11:11 on the clock is often reported as being seen by many people. God would be extremely angry if someone had done something like that again!

Blastman, FsFOOT, I blame you all for this. But... I made this thread to fuel Haggart's paranoia. :-|

Personally, I'm not afraid in the least of a tear in the fabric of space-time.
I have Duck Tape.
