The real difference is the listening environment, IMO. The amount of background noise when "mobile" is enough to mask much of the finer difference, in my experience. Not to mention mental, visual, and aural distractions that are stealing attention from the music and it's reproduction.

You can also get much better sound quality on a turntable and vinyl than streaming on a mobile device but we all know where the consumer market went with that.

Only the first couple of playings on a turn table are that pure and clean. After that, you've damaged the vinyl.
